If anyone wants to try free samples of Masterpiece Cookies "healthy cookie", let me know. I can bring some to the funfelt party, or fire station tour.
I have plenty, and can always get more!
SB 12 stands for Senate Bill 12 - The school junk food ban.

Would love to try them. Either my felt party or the firehouse tour. Probably be more people at the firehouse tour.

No transfat, and no more than 35% of calories from fat, 10% of it's calories from saturated fat, and no more than 35% sugar by weight.

what flavor are the cookies? I don't think I will be coming to the fire station, but I should be at the felt party.

:confused They still have partially hydrogenated oil in them. The whole can be called "fat free" and now "transfat free" if they contain less than x per serving catch irriates me. Please ignore my analness :)

That's ok Lisa, I still have to do more research myself.
I'm not up on all the oils and such.
chocolate chip is the flavor of samples I have.

Its okay Michelle, and I hope you didn't take it personally :) I had hoped something like this (bill) would make manufacterers change their ingredients but it seems as if some (I don't know that m.c. does this) have just made their portion sizes smaller so that each "serving" is less than the .5grams of (trans) fat or whatever max it can be and still be deemed "free" of. But it is a step in the right direction for people companies, even if just to make people aware that there is an "issue".

No, I didn't take it personally.
Because I haven't done much research myself about the good and bad oils, I can't really develop my own opinion. kwim?

Yeah, I just wanted to clarify you didn't think I was saying "Michelle, your cookies suck just so you know" :) Ultimately it is up to the consumer anyhow to figure out if a product works for them or not and to do their own label reading and research.

Is there somewhere we could read the ingredients list for ourselves?

Do you have a catalog or website?

Lisa - Thanks for posting the link.

A little birdy told me they are working on getting some glutein (sp) free products too.
