Salon recommendations?

I need to get my haircut again but have been having trouble since I left my last salon. The girl just kept upping the prices. Anyway, I don't need anything fancy but don't want to go to a place like Supercuts. Maybe something around $30-40 for just a cut. Any suggestions?

i go to pat$ company off of college, i think kelly charges around that im not exactly sure becasue i get a combo of a highlight and a cut but she is the best!

The best hairstylist I've ever been to was Angela...um, now I can't remember her last name. But she owns the Salon called "Hairspray" on 7th street (accross from Sapporo, near Mendocino ave). She is AWESOME. She is the only one who ever cut my hair perfectly every time.

I also think that the spa called Essentials which is on North Dutton (near College ave) is a great place to get your hair done. Of course, both of these places are spendy, but in my experience, hair is not a place to be frugal, unless you are ok with a not-so-great cut and won't cry over it (I tend to cry...).

ETA: In my experience, you can't get a good haircut consistantly for under $45. Regis in the mall is an ok place to go to, but they butchered my hair the last time I went pretty badly, though other times I had good experiences there. They charge $28.

I hear ya Girl! I work @ 6:30 and when it's that early in the morning it's like who cares about doing my hair!

Totally Kaisa! And it's not like there is anyone to impress at work anyway. Why get up a half hour early just to do my hair. Im already up at 5!!!

I wanted to add that I got my bangs trimmed at Regis on Sunday. She did a terrible job! It looks like a rat ate my bangs and they're not even in the slightest. Word to the wise!

I really like Cheri or Jeff at the Benton St Salon on Benton St. a bit west of the McDonald ave area 573-0414. But I hear you about the price. My hair is straight and long and it takes them 2 seconds to cut and then they charge $40-45 not including tip! So, my hair is indeed getting long because I'm too cheap.

Yes, this is my conundrum. I really prefer the better salons but I don't prefer the better salon prices. So lately I just haven't been cutting my hair at all.

I know you said $40 or so, but I wanted to throw Tracy's name out there. She's a California Cuts in Coddingtown and I love her. Cuts are only $16 but then more if you want it washed/dried so probably like $35. I've been going to her since she moved here like 2yrs ago. She's great at listening to what you want. Good luck finding a salon you like.
