View Full Version : Have you been to Disneyland? Sara 06-28-2010, 02:24 PM Have you been to Disneyland? Shawna 06-28-2010, 02:35 PM We went a number of times growing up. Plus we have taken Austin 2 times and Nathan once so far. We are hoping to go again in January, for our birthdays, right before I head back to work from maternity leave. CrystalD 06-28-2010, 02:52 PM I voted "other". I went when I was 5 and don't remember a thing. I really want to go! howardvm 06-28-2010, 03:07 PM I went once growing up, and then we just took Caitlin in March and I love it! I want to go back! momtoM&D 06-28-2010, 03:28 PM I went for the first time on a family trip when I was almost 10, then once in HS, and several times since Tim and I have been together because he has family down there. I think since we had Melody we've been there 4 times. TaivensMama 06-28-2010, 03:44 PM We went a lot as kids and I took Taiven when he was 4, we are waiting a bit to take all three of the kids so they cam really enjoy the expirience... We opted to go to sea world last time we were down south...I think I need a yes, before and after I had kids ;) becky 06-28-2010, 03:48 PM I remember going a lot as a kid though my mom liked going to Knott's more since it didn't cost as much and we used to be able to go free on our birthday. I think the most fun was going on GradNight ;) We have gone once when Kayla was 5 and I think I will wait till next year to take them all again so Shelsea can enjoy it. Brookepanda 06-28-2010, 04:04 PM we went as kids...dh had not been as a child and last April was his and Madelynns first trip to DL. We also went again this past April....we are debating about going again during the holiday season to get 'that' experience...since it's all decked out and what not. Hudsonsmom 06-28-2010, 04:34 PM A bazillion times.....I will never outgrow that place! (Even when I worked there I never lost the "magic"). :) colleen&Kail 06-28-2010, 04:35 PM were planning on going next summer, this summer is our big NY trip:) Jackie1021 06-28-2010, 04:53 PM I went twice as a kid, Matt went a lot since he lived down there. We are waiting until Emma is a little older to take her. jellybeanmichelle 06-28-2010, 05:32 PM I went twice before kids. Once when I was a kid. I won a trip to DL at my All night grad party. Once I met Dan, we have gone at least once a year, if not more. His parents live down there. He went all the time as a kid. His parents have season passes and go all the time, even if it is just for dinner. This will be the first year we won't be going. But, I'm sure we will go in the coming year to show off a special someone to family down there. :) Gay - We still need to get together and talk about Disney and other stuff. I always wanted to work for Disney. If only I could of lived there. If you can't make it to Disneyland, check out the Walt Disney museum in SF. And if your ever in Calistoga, check out the Sharpsteen museum. ktjo17 06-28-2010, 05:40 PM We took all the boys in March and it actually turned out to be a really great experience. Ben was 5 and Henry was almost 4 and Charlie was still content to be held. I think it would be hard to take him now. He wants to be down and run around which would not work well at Disneyland. I had been to Disneyland several times before having kids including for our honeymoon. Sara 06-28-2010, 06:17 PM I went a few times before kids, we even went for the day on our honeymoon :) Since kids we've only been once, J was 3 and M was 1. J still remembers some things and I want to take them again sooooo badly. Hopefully we will figure out a way in the next year. Last time we went in the fall, which is perfect for us because the kids birthdays are then, they have the halloween decorations out & there is less of a crowd. Lorah 06-28-2010, 06:59 PM I put yes after kids many times, but I also went as a kid a lot too! We love it....and by "we" I mean me and the kids....dh isn't such a fan. HeatherK 06-28-2010, 07:11 PM I'm glad to see that someone else voted with me on never been! I went to Disney World in 4th grade. Theresa 06-28-2010, 07:30 PM Many times as a kid. 2 times for Caty and maybe 5 for Alexis. I've been to DW 4 times as well. Got stuck in a hurricane once. My last trip was in Oct when I had a business trip. Had to come home cause the kids were really sick. We are going as a family in Nov. Maritza 06-28-2010, 08:46 PM Oops! I voted "other" but I should have voted NEVER...I have never been to Disneyland, but I have been to "Disney World" many many times in my adult/college life and loved it!:D Lynette 06-28-2010, 09:35 PM I went once when I was 10yo, then went with Salina when she was 2yo, 7yo, a surprise visit when she was 10yo, 6mo later went for a day for a Christmas decoration visit, and then a big trip when Alaina turned 3 so Salina was 14yo. I have been jonesing to go for months now though, I *really* want to go! Maybe in the fall we will drive down for just a couple of days... meeg124 06-28-2010, 09:38 PM I've been twice... once when I was 17 and once when Caden was 5. We'll definitely go again (and I really want to go to DisneyWorld) but it's not someplace I feel compelled to visit every year. surmick 06-28-2010, 10:15 PM I have been twice, once for my 32 birthday and once for Chad's 42. Amelia was with us the second time. If I can squeeze it in, I want to go in November this year. Michelle28 06-28-2010, 10:17 PM The first time I went to disneyland was in high school for our national cheerleading competition...it was so much fun!! I went a couple time while going to SDSU and in 2004 my husband's family planned a trip for all of us to go. He is one of seven kids and at that time there were no grandchildren and only two girlfriends. We were trying to plan another family trip, but it seems someone is always pregnant!!:giggle I'm dying to go again and I think we are going to take Brianna in October... I LOVE it!!! (but I don't like it when it is really hot and crowded...so the fall is better for us) brookiesmom 06-29-2010, 01:36 PM My first and only trip to Disneyland so far was for my senior trip in '99. As much fun as that was I dont feel it was the full disney experience and we're talking about taking the kdis next summer when Brooklyn is just a little bit older! PhreSpirit 06-30-2010, 11:14 PM Never been to DL or DW. I'm torn between wanting to wait until Cole is old enough to enjoy "the experience" and going now. I guess I've waited this long, a few more years won't KILL me, right? :D Leigh 07-06-2010, 10:26 AM A bazillion times.....I will never outgrow that place! (Even when I worked there I never lost the "magic"). :) What did you do? Were you Snow White? :giggle I've been twice... once when I was 17 and once when Caden was 5. We'll definitely go again (and I really want to go to DisneyWorld) but it's not someplace I feel compelled to visit every year. :yeah I went when I was about 4 or 5 and actually remember the trip, so that is a good age. Second time for Senior Grad Night, so 18 years old. Third time about ten years ago when I was about 28 years old. Another year or two and it will be time to go again with Natalie! :D I think about once every 10 years is enough for me. I get too overwhelmed with places that are so popular that everyone in the whole world (literally!) wants to be there. I agree that (in CA) visiting attractions in Sept/Oct after school is back in session, the weather is milder, but before the rains, is the best experience. . Kellie_MO5 07-06-2010, 11:31 AM We've been a lot with the kids (about 4x in the last 6 years?) but THIS year Matt and I are going for our 10th wedding anniversary :D every time we've gone I've been prego or holding small babies so I couldn't go on the big rides, so I'm excited to go just us! Christyn95 07-11-2010, 01:25 AM I went as a kid a few times w/my parents (when we visited family down south), and then I went with my church youth group a few times (I think), and then at least 2x in the 90's....once in 97 with my cousin and his hot friends :giggle, and then in 98 when I gave DH tickets to Disneyland for our first Christmas together. In 98 we went the day after Christmas (b/c we were already down south) and we went on 4 rides in 6hrs and got fed up and left....and drove DH back down to San Diego where he was stationed with the Navy. NOW, we are going next weekend!! :woohoo DH doesn't like Disney, but when I was unemployed for 2months, DH gave me an incentive to work out...and that incentive was Disneyland! :) SO, I worked my butt off then (now now so much. :bag), and I finally got it approved with work, yesterday, to let me take 2 days vacation. We haven't had a vacation in like 2yrs and DH got accepted to nursing school at SRJC which starts in August, so we are very excited about this much needed vacation!! Just hope Morgan handles the trip well! floridamom 07-11-2010, 08:15 AM I guess I have never been to Disney LAND, but I know Disney WORLD pretty well. I only lived about 2 hours from it in Fl. I went as a kid every few years with family, and then as a High School we were selected to sing in the Christmas Candlelight Processional through the park - so it was a fun day behind the scenes and then singing at night...then we got a free pass to come back to enjoy the parks later that year. We have gone alone, we have taken the kids a few times. Honestly - my kids can only take so much. We enjoyed Epcot even more than the Magic Kingdom on our last trip - but my kids wanted to go back to the pool instead of stay in the park. (It was so hot and the lines were just too long for them.) My plan at this point is to hold off until all the kids are old enough to pair up and explore with minimal supervision. Over the years- Disney has crowded admissions to a point it is no longer the same experience. I would also like to see how Disney LAND compares, but I have been warned it is much smaller than Disney World. jellybeanmichelle 07-11-2010, 11:44 AM I would also like to see how Disney LAND compares, but I have been warned it is much smaller than Disney World. True. Just from watching the info shows on TV about Disney WORLD, I can see that it's much bigger than Disney LAND. Even Disney PARIS is different from Disney LAND. The rides are different, layout is different. Paris has their Disney Hotel above the main entrance. Each Disney location has a different castle even. The one in Paris was cool. You could go under the castle in the dungeon and see the dragon and then go to the top where they have a beautiful stain glass of Sleeping Beauty. Disneyland is Cinderella's castle. It's not the same, but I wanna go on the Disney Cruise line. Brookepanda 07-12-2010, 11:52 AM :banana we decided to do a Disney cruise next year and hit up Disney World instead of Disneyland (again!) so excited!! We're doing the cruise/Disney in April :D watoosi! It will be all of our first times at Disney World! Lorah 07-12-2010, 12:06 PM :banana we decided to do a Disney cruise next year and hit up Disney World instead of Disneyland (again!) so excited!! We're doing the cruise/Disney in April :D watoosi! It will be all of our first times at Disney World! Jealous! That would be so fun! WOW! You will HAVE to post pics of that trip! and Tell us all about it.... I know taking pictures is hard for you :giggle but you will have to try to get a few...thousand.... of them for us! :thumb Hillary 08-11-2010, 12:29 AM I voted yes, but before kids. When I lived in San Diego I went practically every other month. My son is only 2 months old, but I plan on taking him when he is older. Lorah 08-11-2010, 09:40 AM Ohhhhh this thread made me get excited.....our passes are about to be unblocked! I can't wait to take the kids again! |
