Anyone want to be my/our netflix buddy? We mostly go for comedys and love/family stories. Right now we have Stranger then fiction and just returned the last kiss.

Any of you know if they stopped the practice of "throttling" accounts? We had them for years but dropped them when they started messing with ours but if they don't do that anymore I would like to sign up again.

When you watch too many movies they move your priority down so you don't get the new releases anymore, it takes 3, 4, 5 days for them to mail out another movie. It is because they determined that they have to average $2 a movie to make a profit (monthly fee divided by how many movies you borrow a month) so if you watch a bunch, they throttle your account. It happened to ours because the last month before I had Alaina and the month or two afterwards I would watch TV series on DVD or movies rather than daytime television but once I got busier with her and stopped, they still wouldn't raise my priority so I was paying the same $$ for less service. I didn't know what was happening because they don't come out and admit it until I Googled Netflix because I thought they were having business troubles and found out about it.

Anyhoo, I just wonder if I signed back up if they would have the same priority level on my account or consider it new again. I guess there is only one way to find out...

We had that happen to us to, a couple of years ago. So I dropped the service and then we signed back up about 3-4 months ago. Haven't had any problems so far, with them throttling the account :)
