Okay, so this is my issue:

I cannot log on to the site from another computer/ my dh's account on our home computer. I am only able to get onto the site when I am on my personal account on my computer...we have it set up so we can have all our own settings and so on.

This is what happens when I am not on "my personal account" on my computer...ie any other computer:
I get to the site. I fill in my user name and password. I get a screen that says welcome Lorah ...bla bla..then says sto click this link thing if I do not get redirected right away. I get to the homepage and then it apprears as if ALL the forums are locked. There is no UserCP. and I do not have anything I ususally have. It is just a list of forums...all of which are locked.

I guess this isnt really an issue since I can totally just use my "personal account" on our computer here. BUT what if I want to access the site when I am away from home or soemthing? Just wondering. Does anyone have any idea what in the world is going on with that?

and it's JUST under your husbands account on your pc?
I have no problem logging in from other PCs but that doesn't mean you won't necessarily.
When it gives you the page with all the forums locked, look in the upper right corner. Does it say that you are logged in or not?

I go back and forth from my mac at home and PC at work. Maybe your husband has some kind of user settings to block certain things? Just a guess. I'm not good at how computers function.

I don't bother logging off. I can't remember my password and I've had it changed so many times that I just stay logged on , so I won't have to deal with the password again.

I have never logged off either - and I am able to log on with other computers as well.

Okay, so I think I am going to go crazy trying to figure this out! So I am on Travis' account right now...and I was FINALLY able to get onto the site. I noticed that when arriving at the homepage there are 2 places to enter the user name and password on the right hand side. Only one says Log In though and has color to it. When I do that it goes to the page that says Welcome Lorah...bla bla bla click here if you do not get redirected... then I am on the forums page with everything locked....BUT in the users online it shows that I am on....but there is no User CP, no New Posts, and no Log Off options in the orange bar at the top. There is however the rectangle on the upper righthand side that has a place for a user name and password and the little box to "remember me". If I again try to log in there, it sometimes lets me...it doesn't seem to matter if I click the remember me either then or earlier, and it doesn't seem to matter if I actually have logged off before hand on my account on my computer....so I really don't know what is up...I'm guessing it is just a crazy thing with Travis' account....or at least my hope this that it all it is. Anyway...I'm going to just stick with my account and then I'll try to log on from a friends house next time I'm there or something to see if I am still having any difficulty...this is just so odd to me...maybe it is just something simple...could be since I am not a puter geek anyhow.

well, the users online thing sometimes can take 5-10 minutes to update who has left or come on. So I wouldn't go solely by that.
It ALMOST sounds to me that it's logging you in, but you are being logged out by the time you are redirected (or by the time the page loads when you click that link)
That's weird.
Does your hubby have anything set on his internet preferences to log himself out of things after x-amount of downtime?

I dont think so, but then I have no idea. I think I'll just stay on my account...which means kicking him off when I want to use the puter in the evenings. I think he can handle it. He likes to play with Mav for a bit at night now anyway...its not that big of a deal... I dont think. I'll let you know if I have any other issues come up when trying from a friends puter.

No Worries!!! I think I am managing well regardless. I seem to be able to get on and post just fine. LOL! I'm on here all the time. Travis thinks I'm an addict. LOL! And what is wrong with that I ask.... :)
