For 2 weeks now I have been exhausted. I yawn like every 5 minutes. I feel like I have not slept in a week, and find myself napping a lot. I am a little worried at what could be causing it. It started suddenly, and has gotten worse. I know that I have low blood pressure, and my Mom and her Mom had thyroid issues, or then it could be pregnant, but most likely not. I dislike going to traditional doctors so I have been putting it off. I may go soon just to check my blood pressure though! Just wanted to share my worries a bit!

If you dont like going to the Dr. office - you can always go to Safeway to check your blood pressure. Thats what I do when I dont feel like going to the Dr. I have low blood pressure as well.
But then again, maybe a baby?!?! Yeah Tina!

When I was pregnant that was one of my symptoms. After I told my family I was pregnant my mom told me she was going to have a talk with me cause everytime she called I was asleep and she thought I was going through some sort of depression!

Could also be iron deficiency. You can get a great natural iron supp. at Whole Foods... Floradix. Won't give you headaches or constipation like prescription iron.

Me too. I slept like 12 hours a day in the beginning!
I slept 12 hours a night, plus a few more eah day in a nap in the first trimester.
I would say pg, but it's been 2 months.
I say iron deficiency or stress

Its really worth checking out, since I myself have thyroid issues it will only get worse should this be what it is. It's a simple blood test, so you wouldn't really even need to see a doctor....
Good luck I hope its nothing serious.

Cheri,
Did your thyroid issues come on suddenly or gradually?
I too was very tired in the begining with both pregnancies. I dont think I am pg because, I was just visited by the crimson flow a little over a week ago. Is it possible to be pg and still have a period?
I am so tired of being tired!
I will definatley check my BP, thanks everyone for all your imput!

yes, it's possible to be pg and have a AF.
One of my friends was 5 months pregnant before she knew she was pg at all.
Period all 5 months and minimal weight gain (she's teeny tiny to begin with and her baby was tiny too)

I have a cousin that found out when she was ~5 months pregnant with her 2nd child (her 1st was about 19mos) that she has thyroid problems. Her levels were SO off that the doc was shocked that she hadn't complained about how tired she must have been. She was like, "How could I know the difference between something like that and just being tired from being pregnant on top of having a toddler??" :)

I took a pregnancy test, and it was negative.
I get dizzy and the room spins when I get up from laying down. I am too tired to go out, constantly yawning. I am starting to just lay on the couch most of the day, I stay awake until nap time then I put up all the baby gates and nap while the kids do.
It does not matter if I get 4 hours of sleep, or 10 I am exhausted. I also had a heart palpatation yesterday. I have had them before, and it just feels like my heart pumps either double time and very hard. It just takes my breath away. I have had them before, not very often every 3 or 4 years, and no doctor has ever looked into it because it does not happen right in front of them.
I am going to make a doctors appointment in the morning.
I am just thinking could it be seasonal allergies making me feel this way? I guess I will find out soon enough.

Too be honest I was diagnosed at age 3 so the issues tend to change with a change in environment. My husband however was recently told he too had a thyroid condition...what were the odds? Anyway, being tired is a huge sign but then so is NOT sleeping. For me when I am SUPER tired I usually have other symptoms as well. Sometimes I have an irregular heart beat or I tend to be less hungry (and put on weight)....
Hope you find the source soon so you can feel like yourself!
