Logging in

On my computer at home, and on my phone, my login is remember so I never have to worry about it, but when I log in from ANYWHERE else, I have nothing but issues. Just now, signing in at my mom's, it took me 7 tries before it actually logged me in. I've tried from multiple locations/computers/whatever and I always have to log in multiple times before it actually works.

Why does this happen, and can we do something to fix it? It's incredibly frustrating.

I'd had this problem from day 1. Jackie tried to help with it, then someone else, maybe Sara tried to help... All we could figure out is the saving of cookies when you click remember me or something.

AND If you dont click remember me, and you walk away for like 5 minutes, you have to try to log in all over agian... and it's a PITA!

I've never been successful attemping to log in from anywhere other than my home computer. :/

I've not had problems at home, when I click remember me and it saves me for months and months. But when I log in somewhere else, where I can't select "remember me" (like a public computer, or just someone else's that I don't want having access to my stuff), is when I have those problems. I would imagine we lose some members early on for that reason.

I always just figured I didn't remember what the heck my password was or mistyped but yeah I usually have to type and retype. Like "are you sure that is your password? Sure? Really sure? reeeally sure? Are you really sure you are my3sonsplus1?" And then I am reminded that I should change my username since it is way dated...

Tell me about it! All I know is it does the same dang thing to me (and always has) if I use a computer that I haven't clicked "remember me". You know how it says, "Thanks MamaLaura for signing in" and then says to click if you aren't redirected? Well for me it takes me back to the log in screen and I don't appear to be logged in. Is it doing the same thing to you? If you click on Forums you will see you are actually logged in, its something about the redirection that is glitchy. Let me know if that doesn't work because we might need to look for a patch or something from vBulletin.

I've never had any problems logging in from other computers and quite honestly, I don't know what we can do about it. I'll talk to Susan and Lynette and see if we can come up with anything though.

I log in at home, at my work, on my phone, at my sisters, at my moms in Vegas and at my Dads in Santa Barbara all with no issues.

I always have this issue on every computer. So I stayed logged in most places, but here at work I don't. When the first page opens up, I click into the forums section and then sign in over there and it has no issues.

I have don it from lots of other computers and never with issues but I will look to see if there is anything on the admin side that we can do......

Lynette, I have noticed that that helps, to click on forums or todays posts or something and then I see I am infact logged in, so maybe it is a redirection thing. :dunno

Yep. I have those problems too.

I had to do a bunch of stuff to my work puter so now I can only use my iPod from there.

I don't use my phone because it just takes forever. Stupid bb.

that is my experience, too. Drives me batty!!! I saved a different URL its:

and it works almost 100% - but I only have that saved at home, so when I use a different computer, I rarely am able to log in.
