Driving towards Seb to pick up my first Laguna Farms order today I saw a banner for a show this Sunday at the Seb Community Center: http://www.leopardsetc.com/events.html I would love to go but I have a feeling Alaina would scream at not being able to pet the kitties but I thought I would post it for older, more patient kids :)

okay, so share what you got in your veggie bin! I'm trying to convince matt to do it, but I wanna know what you get for $16 ...lol... Please ;)

Well, they say for the $16 is enough for 1-2 people and it changes every week so I am just trying it out but what we got this week was a big produce bag of spring mix, about 10 of those big colorful Easter Egg radishes they sell at Whole Foods, 3 big leeks (gonna have to look up a recipe for those), a big head of cauliflower, anothe bunch of some leafy greens that I haven't identified yet, 2 heads of garlic and a couple of oranges. I believe it is all organic and they have other stuff you can add in but I am interested in what they have available in the summer time :)

We got all that and a bag of baby Shitaki (sp?) mushrooms.
All in all I thought it was a pretty good bin this week. :)

I think I went to that cat show last year... they had one showing at Sonoma State and one in Sebastopol the following weekend. The only difference was the one at Sonoma State was free and the one in Sebastopol was like $10 per person I think. It was VERY cool though!! I'd totally go again - but just a heads up... get there early! I was almost 7 months pregnant and had to stand the whole time. My hands were SO swollen by the time we left.

I have a recipe for a Leek and Chicken pie, if you're interested. Or you could just use the leeks like you would an onion.

Yes, that would be great! I went to allrecipes.com too and can use one of them for some potato leek soup.
Stacy- oops, I forgot about the mushrooms :) Do you know what the heck the greenish purple greens are?? They seem too dense for a salad so I am assuming I would wilt them like spinach or collard greens? I was wondering though if everyone got the same exact thing too :)

I posted the pie recipe in the recipe box. Now I'm hungry!
