Lynette 05-31-2011, 02:00 PM Walking out the front door causes cancer..... Looking at your face gives people eyeball cancer. becky 05-31-2011, 02:02 PM I'm doomed :lol becky 05-31-2011, 02:05 PM BlackBerry Bold advises users to, "keep the BlackBerry device at least 0.98 inch (25 millimeters) from your body when the BlackBerry device is transmitting." I find it funny how they say to hold the phone away from the body yet how the hell are you supposed to hear anyone talking unless you have them on speaker phone which totally sucks spladyhawke 05-31-2011, 02:06 PM Walking out the front door causes cancer..... :yeah And if it doesn't cause cancer, it probably causes heart disease. Theresa 05-31-2011, 03:24 PM Please don't let my husband hear this. The man only talks on speaker phone and it's about 6in from his head. He knew someone who had this huge growth on his neck and he told Roy it was from using his cell phone. I hate him. :lol How about eating veggies from Europe today!! Was it Snookie??? Lorah 05-31-2011, 03:46 PM THis is old news. :rolleyes MamaLaura 05-31-2011, 03:59 PM What doesn't supposedly cause cancer? Lorah 05-31-2011, 04:01 PM What doesn't supposedly cause cancer? :yeah seriously surmick 05-31-2011, 04:07 PM Water......i think...oh and sex...so my hubby says. :giggle Lorah 05-31-2011, 04:09 PM Water......i think...oh and sex...so my hubby says. :giggle I think it depends on the water source maybe? hmmmm sex.... well if you get HPV from your partner and get Cervical cancer. :dunno surmick 05-31-2011, 04:10 PM I think it depends on the water source maybe? hmmmm sex.... well if you get HPV from your partner and get Cervical cancer. :dunno Where is that silver lining? spladyhawke 05-31-2011, 04:11 PM I think it depends on the water source maybe? hmmmm sex.... well if you get HPV from your partner and get Cervical cancer. :dunno And keeping with my theory, if you don't get cancer from sex, there's always the added risk of a heart attack from an increased heart rate! :D My3sonsplus1 05-31-2011, 04:13 PM DH had to upgrade his phone from a fairly simple one to an iphone or knock of the iphone 2 weeks ago apparently. I was annoyed because now he lets the boys use it and while everything causes cancer I don't think the kids need to be playing video games all the damn time anyway. DH wears his phone in is pocket ALL THE TIME even though he rarely rarely gets calls and only gets stupid ass whatcha doing type texts from his friend when he does get s message. I told him he was going to get crotch cancer now. What was wrong with the regular old phones anyhow? I don't think we need to be accessible 24/7/365. OLd lady talking there ;) I am confused though- is the "risk" only when a phone is actually receiving or sending information or all the time when it is on??? jennakaka 05-31-2011, 04:14 PM Water......i think...oh and sex...so my hubby says. :giggle Nope, sorry, in my Biology of Cancer class I remember reading that sex increases your chances of cervical cancer :) But probably, at the same time, lowers your risk for many other types of cancers. MamaLaura 05-31-2011, 04:23 PM But doesn't breastfeeding reduce your risk of breast cancer? And you can't breastfeed unless you have a baby, which takes sex, so you've got that going for ya LOL spladyhawke 05-31-2011, 04:25 PM Water......i think...oh and sex...so my hubby says. :giggle Oh...and not that it's cancer, but did you hear that drinking too much water too quickly will kill you, too? Some college-age kid died from a water drinking contest a few years ago! I'll go with the "moderation" technique... MamaLaura 05-31-2011, 04:25 PM What was wrong with the regular old phones anyhow? I don't think we need to be accessible 24/7/365. OLd lady talking there ;) For parents, I think it's important to have a phone at all times in case of emergency. Whether it's 911, poison control, car breaking down, something interfering with picking a kid up from school, or something else I just think it's responsible to have a cell phone on hand when you're away from home/work. Lorah 05-31-2011, 04:39 PM But doesn't breastfeeding reduce your risk of breast cancer? And you can't breastfeed unless you have a baby, which takes sex, so you've got that going for ya LOL NICE! I love the logic! My3sonsplus1 05-31-2011, 04:50 PM But doesn't breastfeeding reduce your risk of breast cancer? And you can't breastfeed unless you have a baby, which takes sex, so you've got that going for ya LOL well that is the usual way but Stacey i living proof there need not be sex for babies ;). TaivensMama 05-31-2011, 04:53 PM For parents, I think it's important to have a phone at all times in case of emergency. Whether it's 911, poison control, car breaking down, something interfering with picking a kid up from school, or something else I just think it's responsible to have a cell phone on hand when you're away from home/work. I absolutely agree…I have had many times I have needed my phone to either get a hold of someone or someone get a hold of me in an emergency or something in dire need, being lost, car breaking down, getting in an accident etc….the one time I had forgotten my cell phone while running errands was the time I was completely unaware Taiven had fallen off a swing and broke his rib and I felt terrible... Brookepanda 05-31-2011, 05:09 PM Looking at your face gives people eyeball cancer. I just spit my coffee ALL OVER while I busted a gut! :biglaugh Lynette 05-31-2011, 05:48 PM I just spit my coffee ALL OVER while I busted a gut! :biglaugh No, not the magical elixir! Where ever will you get more?! :eek jennakaka 05-31-2011, 05:49 PM I can sense a rise in pager and bluetooth headset purchases. Brookepanda 06-01-2011, 09:25 AM I can sense a rise in pager and bluetooth headset purchases. Do 'they' even *make* pagers anymore? :bag Lorah 06-01-2011, 09:51 AM Do 'they' even *make* pagers anymore? :bag :yeah :biglaugh I had one! I was sooo cool! lol I even learned "pager language"...lol early texting! :biglaugh Brookepanda 06-01-2011, 09:58 AM :yeah :biglaugh I had one! I was sooo cool! lol I even learned "pager language"...lol early texting! :biglaugh Yeah, I had one too.....eons ago........but I'm saying *now*.......are they still used? Maybe by doctors still? :dunno My3sonsplus1 06-01-2011, 10:38 AM Do 'they' even *make* pagers anymore? :bag Yes they still make them for the average Joe or Jane but they don't really make financial sense as the plans run $10-$!5/mo or more http://www.directpage.com/directpage-pager-rate-plans-i-47.html and I think you can get a pay as you go phone for as much if you don't use your phone much. erobertson 06-01-2011, 09:30 PM It is old news. I've heard that it is better to use speaker phone or a bluetooth. What about talking using speaker phone while breastfeeding- I do this all the time. The phone is at least a foot away from the baby though. |
