Can you even imagine?! This is why when Alaina was born I wouldn't let them take her from the room without Brian going with her.

THIS IS AWFUL!!!
Lynette, I was the same way with Maverick. I had Travis go with him whenever Maverick left my room. The only exception was when he needed to get his blood drawn and he went with a nurse that we had already met....and it was 3am and we had not slept....But I was still worried then too. I am SOOOO thankful that nothing happened to Mav.
My prayers go out to that family for sure!

after brendan was born they took him to have some tests done and jr disappeared. all of a sudden i'm like "where the hell is my husband?!" and we peeked out the door to see him down the hall, peering through a window at brendan while they did tests. He was SO protective. Our hospital thought was big Baylor, and they ahve CRAZY rules. I wasn't allowed to take brendan out of the room under any circumstances. If he slept in with us, there was only one spot in the room his crib could be "parked", etc.
they gave us a whole booklet about newborn safety in the hospital.

I remember with Alaina she had that Baby Lo-Jack anklet on but I am not sure if it just sets off alarms or has GPS or what? Brian reminded me that one time they *did* take Alaina out for the hearing test (everything else they did in my room) because the machine was in the nursery and they kept bugging me to do it without waiting for him to come back from dropping off Salina. They took her like 2 minutes before he showed up and he got nuts and ran off to find her. One of the nurses *gave him the secret code to the nursery* without even asking for ID and when he walked right in the other nurses got pretty pissed but didn't make him leave.

WOAAAAAAAAH!!! That is SO INCREDIBLY WRONG

and THAT, ladies, is exibit A... why my children will NEVER sleep in the nursery at a hospital.

thats one reason why i was soooo unhappy with memorial, besides tha fact that they made me stay for 48 hours AFTER i had kail. they kept coming in my room to take him out for "test" once at 1 am then at 3 am............it ws really wierd but i made sure that neil wnet with them EVERY time. to tell you the truth i was so tired i dont even rememebr why they kept taking him out, i think that they should have come in and told me what they were doing with out me having to ask and make sure iwas really *awake* since i was half asleep the entire time i was there.

I can't freaking believe stuff like this actually happens... It makes my stomach turn. I hope they find the little girl safe and sound... and I hope the abductor goes to prison... and the inmates beat the hell out of her, for causing the poor mother of that baby girl such anguish.

I can't but can believe that this happened. I see people all the time at Kaiser that I think are "lurking". I call and tell security about them. I'm sure they are tired of my paranoia! Or people that come into our department and just come behind the partition. I always stop them and ask who and what they are... I always get this look, like what is your problem? But you know what, for my safety, I need to know who you are and what you are doing.

I can't but can believe that this happened. I see people all the time at Kaiser that I think are "lurking".

Actually when I used to go in for my stress tests the last couple of months when I was still preggo with Alaina sometimes I had to wait outside the room in the hall and the door right accross from that was a door with a keypad lock so nurses would watch me like I was trying to see what they were typing in so for the first month I thought it was weird they were so protective of what I thought was their breakroom....yeah, it was the nursery :D I lost a bunch of IQ with this pregnancy, Alaina just sucked it right out of me....

Colleen- they are soooooo pushy aren't they?! They act like you are the biggest moron/bitch in the world if you dare defy them!

Jackie- Isn't it though?! The nurses were trying to get him to tattle on who it was that gave him the code but he wouldn't do it because he didn't want her to get in trouble but really she shouldn't have done it.

Another point for home birth :(

I can't believe this is still happening. When I delivered at Kaiser we had the bracelet match up and only staff with green name cards can take the baby but there was nothing secure about the bracelets that I am awatre of. Baby could not be carried in the hall, just in the bassinette or carseat to go home, but obvoiusly sleepy babies as was proven can stay quiet in handbags so abducters don't have to carry them out in arms. So sad... but I have heard of hospitals with gps or other tracking devices so hopefully this one did have a higher sophistication though I would think if you are crafty enough to do this you'd scope out the hospital with the least security. Why they couldn't install the detectors they have in DVDs and such in department stores that beep if you leave the store w/o them being removed first in a bracelet is beyond me.

Yeah its great they found her.

what's stupid about the ankle ID security bands is that they come off so easily. with all three girls their little bands fell off as i changed their diaper or while swaddling them.

When Kayla was at CHLA though they didn't have any security bands but the security there was so crazy that i never worried about leaving her alone at night.
