I'm getting my wisdom teeth out in less than an hour!

Everyone wish me luck. All four are horizontally impacted and well, I'm terrified. They're putting me out, and I've never been put out before.

EEEK!

Good luck Lindsay. Like i told you a few min ago, you'll be waking up before you even know that you were put out. I have been put out 3 times and each time i was still waiting to be knocked out when the nurse was telling me to wake up cuz it was all over.

They gave me a valume (sp?) before in the waiting room. When they called my name I was so giddy I didn't even care what was about to happen. Good luck!! Hopefully they will do the same for you.

I've only had my 2 bottom wisdom teeth pulled.
1 of my top ones cracked my molar and came in, in it's place.
The other one is still waiting to come down.

Good luck! I am sure it is over by now, hope it went very smoothly. I got one wisdom tooth in for each pregnancy. I don't know why that happened. So I have the two top ones in and the bottom ones just waiting for another baby lol! Too bad they won't see the light of day :) I really should get them all pulled, just waiting on that lottery ticket to pull through...

Cool! Bring on the ice cream!!! :D

I only had three and having them pulled sucked but I was awake. Salina is getting hers out when they pull a couple for her braces and she will be asleep.

nevermind she LJed too soon, and now that the novicaine is wearing off the pain is kiling her, but no post knock out issues which is good but does not negate the after effects much like childbirth ;).

I so need mine out they are growing in horribly twisted and like Sara mine coming in seemed to come with childbearing I had one or two grow in after J was born and now have 2 fully out one halfway and one still under but I think it is coming out. Mine were really painful coming in, perhaps God's way of reminding us to have compassion for our irritable teethers?!

The surgery itself was a breeze, but the recovery has been really tough.

I am still incredibly swollen, down into my neck and in a lot of pain even though I am taking the max dose of Motrin and Percocet that I can, round the clock. CHILDBIRTH is easier than this. Seriously.

I can barely chew soft noodles. I can't hardly even open my mouth without a lot of pain. I am running a low grade fever too. Last night my cheeks were so swollen they started to tingle and go numb. I couldn't even open my mouth enough to be examined when I WENT TO THE ER for fear that there was something seriously wrong. My whole face is just throbbing right now, even though I took 4 advil and 2 percocet an hour ago.

Luckily, I think the actual extraction sites are healing OK. And the doctors/nurses at Kaiser said pain this extreme is normal after an extraction, especially if you have severe TMJ.

What fun!

Oh yikes you have TMJ on top of it? That sucks! With the fever and everything did they give you antibiotics?

Lindsay- I saw your MIL & FIL at the park w/ your girls yesterday and they said you were still swollen like a chipmunk...:(
just thinking about it brings back memeories of the pain I had when I had mine out...I'm sooo sorry! I hope you start feeling better soon!

I am on antibiotics, the oral surgeon gave me Penicillin. I dunno if the fever is from the pain, or just maybe an infection my body is fighting???

Ah, so it was you they saw Stacy! Heh. And yep, still swollen like a chipmunk.

I called the doctor today, and they prescribed more pain meds, and told me this is probably just going to be a really painful recovery. Bleh.

I'm going to call my regular dentist tomorrow to see if he will examine me, since I refuse to go back to The Doorway To Hell -er, Smilecare.
