Sooo.... what did y'all have?
We grilled some hamburgers, baked beans, and, since we don't have veggies right now (need to go grocery shopping!) the kids had some dill pickles...lol

Dustin is getting home late so Ava and I are about to eat some roasted veggies (potatoes, carrots, turnips, bell pepper, onion, garlic, yum!). And I will probably give her some turkey.
I made turkey tacos last night and didnt notice that the can of diced green chili's was actually diced jalepenos! Talk about heart burn!

I am jealous of Colleen too! LOL! We just had my pasta e fagioli dish but nobody really seemed hungry so there is like half of it in the fridge. Brian brought home these nasty cheap crappy pink frosted cookies from work so Alaina was yelling "HAVE ONE!" all day but I think they are going to have an accident...

we had salads last night and then went shopping at Tj's where they had samples of a chicken alfredo pasta, OJ and bon bons which I had 3 of since I don't think I have ever had them before. Yum but $3 something for like 12 bons bons is way too much $$. Oh and when we got home we had whole food smoothies. carrots, spinach, berries, apple juice, a bit of OJ concentrate, and some flax meal.

wow, what a variety, everyone! Last night we had lasagna that I froze last time I made a big batch. It didn't turn out well. I put it in the oven and heated it up but it tasted like all the flavor froze out. It was really bland and nothing like fresh. :(

Do you ever feel like you're in a food rut? I totally feel like that right now. It doesn't help that I've no interest in cooking right now. I feel like all I ever make is pasta.

I totally feel that way too! It doesn't help that when I try new dishes dh always "pretends" to like them and then the next time I say we're having that for dinner he's like "oh, not that again!" Grrr. Every night we have a slab of meat, rice or pasta and a side of veggies. rut rut rut

Tonight is scrounge night when there isn't anything in the fridge for a cohesive meal so everyone just grabs what they want to make space for the groceries I have to get tommorrow. Not very exciting.
Yes, I do the rut thing too BUT summer is around the corner so BBQ's, corn on the cob, potato salad, pasta salad, taco salads, and lemonade are on the horizon :) Oh, and Sat is corned beef and cabbage of course...

I was in a rut for a while until someone at work left one of those Raley's free magazines on my desk. I flipped through it and found some great dishes. Now, the lady brings them to me every few months and they always have great things in there.
