I have to admit, I sympathize with the farmer and find his response humorous.

I don't think I'd bait my neighbor in such as dispute. At the same time, it is rather odd to me that the Muslim group bought the land when the neighboring pig farm was unacceptable. No matter where you buy you have to check out the neighbors. It doesn't make sense to buy and then try and change your neighbor's lifestyles.

:yeah Especially when in Islam pigs are consider filthy and untouchable, it goes way beyond just not eating pork.

I think it is rather rude to move in and demand that the people living there leave! WTH? I don't care what the reason, that is just unbelievable.

:yeah That pretty much sums up my opinion on the matter. The farmer's response might be a little extreme/baiting, but I can SOOO understand why he was frustrated, and it's a creative way to respond!

It reminds me of the guy who bought a house in the middle of the vineyards in Dry creek and then tried to get the city to pass a law that farmers couldn't work before 10 am.
:duh come on people don't buy next to the farm and then bitch about the smell.
