Tomorrow is D-day: Horizon Air inaugural day of service, March 20, 2007

I have no idea how much or how loud air traffic is going to be. Who's looking forward to dreading this?

I actually like the idea of having flight service from here... but I have never looked into the cost so I am not sure if it's worth it or not.

i like the idea of catching flights from here but it does cost a ton more than if you were to just drive down to oakland and fly JetBlue. IMO being a frequent flier to LA co. for me it actually saves time to drive to Oakland and fly into long beach to get to my parents house then it would be to fly out of here and arrive in LAX becuase LAX is so crowded and traffic is terrible. But that is just what works for me.

I just don't want my house to be in the flight path.
Don't want no plane crashing in on me. I'd like to live :thankyou

That and the potential noise are my feelings as well. I kind of have an unrealistic paranoia of planes crashing over me some days ;) .

i still haven't heard a plane fly by yet. still waiting. I grew up under a flight path but the planes were still high enough that its wasn't horribly loud. being closer to the airport here i have no idea how loud its going to be.

I've booked a flight in Sept. It costs $150 r/t from Santa Rosa to LAX. Definately worth it for us!

When SR had air service before, I never really noticed the air traffic. It's not like they will be landing jumbo jets and 747's at the Sonoma Co airport. We will probably hear more air traffic from flights coming out of SFO and Oakland.

We might be going to southern Cali in October, so I hope we'll be able to get a semi cheap flight down there! It would be nice if the flight went to Ontario or Long Beach, anywhere other than LAX. That is a horrible airport.

IT would have been wonderful had they gone from one small airport to another but i;m sure they were thinking of commuters rather than us casual fliers.

We have flown up here several times in October to attended the sunrise ceremony on Alcatraz on Columbus day and i can tell you that you can get tickets on JetBlue for $15 each way from Long Beach to OAK. Talk about cheap flight.

its very rare but if you plan it right you can get tickets on JetBlue for that cheap, i'm not kidding. The last time we came up here is was like 150 for 3 round trip tickets and that included taxes and who knows what else get forcibly added on all tickets. The next time I get an email from JetBlue i will let you know. I have only flown once where the ticket cost like $75 each way but that was becuase i was flying up for thanksgiving. But i tell you, in oct around columbus day they do have those $15 tickets

I wish i still had my old reciepts. I was looking to see what dates we flew for that price. I know that you ahve to keep checking thier website becuase prices change so much but if you book a flight and later find out it has gone down you can call JetBlue and ask for a credit. I literally booked my flight and found out a week later the priced dropped so i called and they gave me money back.

Wow, even at $150 round trip that isn't bad once you figure parking and gas going to Oakland.

Its weird but we have noticed a few rogue planes flying over our house every once in awhile in the past few months, some pretty low but I wouldn't think we are in a flight path?? The ones *I* would be worried about are the small airplanes flown by the rich hobby pilots like if you lived near the Petaluma airport....

Does anyone know if you have to pay to park at the Sonoma County Airport now?
