View Full Version : How often do you go to the dentist? LMS 03-19-2007, 11:51 AM How often do you go to the dentist? Luckylove 03-19-2007, 11:54 AM Every year? I go when they send me the card to get my teeth cleaned. Isnt that every year. I am getting a crown in a few weeks though. I wanted to get it done before we get pregnant so this year I would have to say 3-4 times a year. Lynette 03-19-2007, 03:12 PM Ugh, after putting it off for like 5 years :bag , I went in recently and had a couple of minor fillings. I didn't even know the cavities were there, I couldn't feel them and they were small. So the guy filled them and NOW they are bugging the heck out of me!!! karen-clark 03-19-2007, 03:22 PM I have serious dental phobia tracing back to a mean dentist when I was little but my Mom spent so much $$ on my teeth in fillings, crowns, braces, etc. that I feel like I have to take care of them. Not to mention the fact that I have such crappy teeth that I still get a cavity every time I go in! It's crazy. The hygienest even said last time that they "don't usually see this in women your age"! As in I am too old to be getting cavities. LOL Anyway I go every 6 mo for a cleaning and 1x a year they do xrays. I have crowns on all my molars from when I was in high school and I expect those to go bad any day now. I one tooth that bugs me constantly but they can't find anything wrong with it, I suspect it is headed for root canal or extraction, which would be fine by me. Anyway there ya go. More than anyone wanted to know about my mouth! I really don't like going but I guess I've stopped fighting it. Last time I went too long they had SO much work to do it was horrible. I'd rather go more frequently and get 1 thing done than wait a couple years and get tons done. Ick. KaisaG 03-19-2007, 09:32 PM I friggin' hate the darn dentist. I make them pre-medicate me... and sometimes post-medicate me! Kellie_MO5 03-19-2007, 10:25 PM I've been a lot recent;y, getting a bunch of problems fixed (my teeth were neglected as a child, and I never "learned" how to properly take care of them over reg brushing) .. I still have a few problems, but with only medical, I don't want to go back to Western Dental, but don't know anyone else that accepts medi cal... I don't like going to the dentist.. fear of needles, and I don't like when they make you keep your mouth open for a long time and tell ou not to swallow, I get nervouse and panicky.. I NEED a dentist that deals well with fearful patients, but that also accepts medi cal.... Anyone? lol LMS 03-19-2007, 11:01 PM lindsays gunna freak when she sees this post :lol poor girl. Atleast I know where NOT to go whenever i decide to go back to a dentist Marisa 03-20-2007, 10:55 AM My major problem is that I'm a big time procrastinator when it comes to this kind of thing. I was really good planning before I got prego so that it wouldn't be too long between visits but then I haven't been back since I had Brianna... LOL :bag becky 03-20-2007, 11:18 AM I have gone once since i moved here. I'm so bad. I went and got all my teeth fixed right before myah was born and my insurance stopped. Then i was supposed to go back and never did. When we moved up here and found our wonderful dentist (just by chance since i answered a letter in the mail) everyone had their teeth checked and cleaned. I didnt get mine cleaned though becuase i was just too sick from the pregnancy. Now i hope to schedule everyone again. I'm a procrastinator too when it comes to my teeth. Every tooth has a filling of some kind and now its gotten to the point that some are so old that they need to be replaced. I hate my teeth but at least i dont have crowns yet so that is good. LOL :bag :yeah I really need to get on the ball about this. Luckily I've never had a cavity yet but that wont' last much longer if i don't start going. Luckylove 03-20-2007, 12:04 PM My parents were self employed with 5 kids so we only went to the dentist when our teeth hurt. Now that I am an adult and have my own insurance I make sure to keep on top of it. I had to have so much work done when i first started going regularly that I don't ever want to go through that ever again. Lorah 03-22-2007, 06:36 PM We were going every 6 months, but we just lost our dental ins. so we will go every year now. JuliaSannar 03-28-2007, 07:05 PM I just went and got my teeth cleaned today. I go every 6 months - I love the feeling of freshly cleaned teeth. I DO however, have a HUGE fear or dentists when they have to do more work then just cleaning. Ugh I hate that part. Stacey 03-28-2007, 07:16 PM I have a GREAT dentist if anyone is in the market - Dr. Catalon in Santa Rosa. He's so gentle! |
