Okay, several people mentioned they would be interested, so I'm going to post here.
Please vote on if this is something you are REALLY interested in. It's okay to vote No, my feelings won't be hurt ;)
Please bear in mind that if we do this, there will be a session fee and print committment like I normally have, but since it won't be a full 2 hour session per kid, it won't be my full normal session fee and committment.
Also, the purpose of this is a particular style image.. i'm thinking outdoors, in a big field with mustard or cattails or something... Sara mentioned an eyelet sundress, I mentioned boys in newsboy caps and buttondown shirts, etc. We may use a few "props" (some existing) like maybe if we can find someone who has an old farmhouse, or barn we could use those, i'm thinking a rocking horse in the middle of the field.

I have a few other ideas for these, so if you are interested in THIS style, that's totally fine.

My other ideas are a fairies one for girls like my friend did (I can show you an explain if you PM me for the link), maybe a teaparty one out in the middle of "nowhere" with a table and teaset, etc and the girls all dressed up in their drilly dresses and whatnot. If you have other ideas that you would like, let me know.
You'd basically get like 10 proofs with your kids in them (maybe more, depends on how the kids are the whole time) to choose from.
My print prices can be seen on my website if you want to check them out
www.reitzphotography.com
If you haven't seen my work, you can also check out my blog at www.reitzphotography.typepad.com

If you have questions or anything, feel free to ask me either here or PM me.

do you have an idea of what the adjusted fees/commitment order might be?

LMS
03-22-2007, 10:14 PM
as of right now I'm looking at a $95 package. It would be the $35 session fee and $60 prints (that would cover your print committment and you could choose to order more prints than that or not)

eta; that package would be for 1 kid. If someone wanted 2 or more kids to participate, i would adjust it further on the session fee)

Would you be able to incorporate the nonwalkers/sitters? Say...... a 5 month old??

what about, say, 3 kids? ;)

I also want to explain that this would *just* be for SCM. It would be setup like a playdate but I ask that we keep it to JUST scm members

LMS

julia: deffinatly

kellie: let me figure out some math and i'll brb

LMS

LMS

just so everyone knows, i'd schedule this for in May (probably the 3rd or 4th week) to give everyone a chance to save up their $$, buy whatever clothes they want, make necessary plans/arrangements, etc

would the mustard field still be in bloom?

What about a newborn...you think you could do something with her?

LMS
03-22-2007, 11:46 PM
a newborn probably wouldn't be possible. I'm thinking sitting unassisted and older.

I'm in with Alaina, I dunno that Salina would fit with the theme of cute little kids :) I was thinking little stealing a kiss on the cheek shots would be cute too so gotta have boys :love I do think Becky is right though, the mustard would be gone by then and most people might have mowed their fields by then, I can't remember and for fairies Armstrong Woods or up by the Petrified Forest would be perfect but I like the field idea a lot too :) I do like the idea of the tea party but I have a feeling it would be too structured for Alaina and she wouldn't cooperate so I would have to bow out if you did that one.

If you have an idea of the dress theme and could post a link that would be very helpful :)

There's no choice for a maybe... and I am only saying "maybe" because that would be really close to E's birthday and I might be really crazy by then. It'd be cool if I got everything together before then...

I will have Jacob there too to add to the boy factor :) I was thinking that the Mustard would be gone by then too. Maybe I will go for a drive today to scout some locations...

LMS

sara: That would be awesome. If it's someones property, I'd have to get permission to use it as well.

I think Jacob will be perfect for the "kissing cheek" shots..b/c he's still young enough to not look too old, but he's older than say, Brendan, who won't cooperate for those kinds of shots

Depending on what you figure out... we would be interested. If it's anything too structured, Caden probably won't be interested. He is more the run around like a wild Indian kid... do you do action shots Jackie? :lol j/k However, knowing what a little flirt he is, he would would do the kiss on the cheek. I do need a visual of what you wanted for clothing for the boys.

sounds like Alaina, Caden and Myah all think alike

It looks like most of the mustard is going by now. There are patches here and there, but most of what I saw was on hillsides. I didn't get down petaluma hill road today though. There was one field I want to check out more that is attached to a public park. I will let you know if I get around there this weekend.

Where is it off P-Hill Rd? We drive that road pretty often between SR and Petaluma... So I could probably check it out. I guess I just don't pay attention to where the mustard grows...

Actually the park I saw was off old redwood highway, across from Cardinal Newman high school. There is a new baseball field across the street and a field attached to it.

There is a big field of mustard off of Fulton road, close to the Expressway.

I just drove by it a couple of hours ago :) I wasn't paying the closest attention to it, but I think there was still quite a bit of mustard in bloom.

I looked at the mustard more closely on my way to work this morning and it is in a huge field behind that pink bed and breakfast before the Zamaroni Landscaping place on the way to SR. I dunno if the B&B owns the property though, it was hard to tell if the property lines really were the fence lines.

Okay, I'm reviving this thread. We are debating between 3 locations right now for these photos. 2 of them are deffinatly available... one is deffinatly usable - one we are waiting to see a photo of. The third is still up in the air whether or not its available.
So basically, Kathleen and I are going to do a test shoot next Wednesday at one of the locations to see how it looks and take the kids there to get some photos as examples. I'll be sureto post those photos next week and let you all know a definate location and date. The date WILL be in may (most likely one of the first 2 weeks) so be sure to plan for that.

Ahh, so that's why you can no longer make it to Becky's baby shower.
We were wondering why. No problem.
