I am yurning to throw my skates on but can't seem to find a decent paved path in the area. I live in Petaluma and have checked out Wiseman Park by the airport.. but it's got cracks and pavement separation. I used to skate down at the Berkeley Marina (good 3+ mile one direction) and desperately need to take off some of this winter mush that's accumulated...

That is a hard one. Chad and I tried to rollerblade quite a few years ago and ran across the same problem. I am terrible so we ended up going over by Schollerberger park and going around that business park. It is just side walks and parking lots though.

I see lots of people roller blading on the path next to hwy 12 between SR and Sebastopol. It is straight and smooth. There are a few places to park and get on it.
If you are daring and like hills, the path at Howarth and around Spring Lake in SR is nice.

How steep are we talking (with the hills?).

There are a couple pretty steep ones. The Joe Rodota, which is the Hwy 12 path is a little scary at some points. I have done it many times, but never alone. It is a nice path just goes through some interesting areas.

I was racking my brain for the name of that trail last night! Don't be frightened of the Joe Rodota trail, but there are homeless living nearby and on the trail. I live in Sebastopol, I'd be willing to join you.

I would love to meet up and walk it with some of you. I work very close to it. My rollerblading skills are 0 so I wouldn't be a good partner at that.
