So..I'm about to feed two hungry men.. Any suggestions for seasoning.. flare that you put on your meat??? My husband of course will eat anything I make (he is a very spoiled man)... But it's the empty pitted guest we have that i'm more worried about.. Maybe I should do some hot wings as an appetizer, steak, salad, potatoes...and for dessert.. a decadent chocolate cake (that I am not going to make as I don't believe in making my own birthday cake!!)

I like to keep my meat simple - kosher salt and pepper for me. Sorry not much help here ;)

Question is though - why do you have to cook your birthday dinner?!

Are you celebrating your Birthday tonight?
Just wondering since I noticed the Calendar says tomorrow.

And as for the BBQ/grilling steak, I would have to ask my man.
I do know though that he does something with frozen boysenberries, (sp?)
and blueberry jam I think, or maybe it's boysenberry jam too.
And then he also sticks/stuffs cloves of garlic in the steak too.

Amy it is probably too late for tonight, but G&G over by the big park has this amazing marinade. It is a bloody mary marinade and we love it. I think it is right under the butcher counter in the back left of the store, so yummy.

I haven't been to G&G.. but always looking for a good marinade.. That does sound good. I didn't end up getting the chocolate cake.. and I guess I am celebrating my bday tonight vs. tomorrow since we have a friend over.. otherwise my hubby knows his way around the grill but I usually have to beat him with the broom stick if he touches the rest of the kitchen! hahaa.. j/k...

He's going to "rub" the meat.. but i'm making the hot wings... it's my "special" concoction..

Got a nice bottle of Merlot to go with the slab of tri-tip I bought...
Of course tomorrow is a work day.. so just a little for me

sorry we missed your bday dinner but i hope you are having fun. We usually just use kosher salt and maybe paprika if grilling chicken.
