When I log on, I get the SCM front page with the picture.
I have noticed the box that says who is online.
Lately it's been saying 5 members are online, when I only see 2 or 3 names listed. It will also say like 4 guests are online to, but those are just the google spiders and such. Which I have no problem with the spiders. It was just the members, like maybe they are online but invisible? I don't know.
I've also noticed when I log on, a box will pop up saying I have a PM.
But, when I go check my personal e-mail there isn't a message there telling me I have one. Then a few hours later in my personal e-mail it says I have a PM, but it's the one I already read on SCM.
Anyone else see this happening?

I think a lot of people on her are invisible. I havent noticed that but will have to pay more attention. Not sure about the other thing. I don't have PM's sent to my e-mail.

Members can set themselves to invisible, and several members are currently set that way.
Sometimes the email can take slightly longer to get to you. There are certain times throughout the day that vbulletin runs its "tasks"
So say it sends out PM notifications at 12pm and you get a pm at 12:15... you won't get your email notification until the next "series" of emails go out.

so what is the perk to being invisible?? So no one can see you lurking (until you post)
yup. that's about it.
I set myself invisible b/c when I'm logged into the backend of SCM (doing coding, etc) it shows me as online when technically i'm not really on the board. So that way people odn't think i'm ignoring posts or PMs sent to me when really i'm not "on" the board.

Maybe so we don't figure out that they are spending all day on the computer. LOL Not that I haven't been guilty of that myself...

LOL, i'm sure that's the case for some too.

Thank you!
That helps. Maybe I'll go invisible at night, cause I don't log out.
It deletes all my cookies, and then it doesn't remember me, even though I click it.
Thank you again!
actually, if you've been inactive for over like 15 minutes, it takes you off the list of active members. just so you know :)

LOL! Good, because I usually leave the browser up and open so I just figured you all thought I was a loser sitting here all day long :D
