I like El Patio off of Stony Point and West 3rd. And I like Lila's off of Yulupa in the Whole Foods shopping center also in SR.

I love Mi Pueblo in Petaluma. It's family run, lot's of food for great prices! My favorite in Santa Rosa is Puerta Vallerta and there is a place in Sebastopol that I love that I can't remember the name right now but they have the best carnitas!

Sorry I don't know of any down by you. It depends on what I'm in the mood for as to where I go eat. I love Chalinos on forth st for Chili Colorado or Tostada Salad. Then there is a place in Bennett Valley across from Wahington Mutual on Yolupa for the beans and rice and breakfast borritos.

Lepe's in Santa Rosa on Montgomery Drive. Taco Salad with Carne Asada is my FAVORITE!!

Mi Pueblo in Petaluma is good, I think better than La Azteca. I used to work in Petaluma and my co-workers who were locals showed me all the great food spots :)

In Rohnert Park, I like Dos Amigos best probably.

We also like El Coronel in Sebastopol on 116, Pepe's by Foodmax in SR Stony Point area, oh and MARTHA's in Sebastopol across from Safeway - to die for food and great ambiance on the patio!!! Sorry I don't know any in Petaluma!

I love Taqueria Santa Rosa. The best chicken there...it's been a while, maybe I am due for a fix ;)

I always thought Las Guitarras was too bland, maybe I should give them a try again. I thought of another one but something tells me it isn't in business any more - Old Mexico in Petaluma on the Blvd out by that cattle ranch??? That place was super yummy!

Mi Pueblo is on the Boulevard by that Hatchery shopping center on the left if you are heading downtown. I think it is a white building?

Just for the record, Petaluma has the best food. So many individual restaurants, not like Chain-topia here in RP.

Old Mexico in Pet, no longer there. They might of moved. I don't know.
I loved Rafa's in Cotati. But I they are not there anymore. They changed the name, so maybe new owners? Don't know, I will have to pay them a visit.

I'm glad you liked it! I haven't been there in awhile. Scott used to work in Petaluma, so we would have lunch there frequently. Now we don't make it down there as often.

I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD!!! My fav places are Old Mexico in Santa Rosa (there is also one in Petaluma) and Puerto Vallarta, also in Santa Rosa. Mmmmmm Bolla!!!:)

OK has anyone ever had any BAD Mexican in Sonoma County?

We used to love El Tapatio here in RP by Safeway but it seems like there's a lot more dark meat in the chicken tacos and it's kinda icky, not as good as it used to be. They used to be our favorites for quick take out.

i used to like puerta vallarta but the last few times we've been it was not good at all and the portions seem tiny.

I haven't tried them before, good to know! We used to like the veggie burritos at Sol Azteca on E. Cotati Ave on the corner of Camino Collegio but the past couple of times they were a little funky but that is about as bad as I can think of, it seems most places have it together :)

Mexican beans and rice was my major preggo craving with Alaina besides nectarines. It is funny because she really likes them too :)

Yeah I ate SO much Mexican when I was pregnant with TJ. We used to love Las Parillas and went there at least once a week at the end, sometimes more. TJ Loooooooves spicy salsa and Mexican, even as a little 1 year old he'd eat salsa and ask for more.

A friend of mine told me that Sonoma Taco in Petaluma (by the big Albertsons) was terrible... and strongly advised against it!..

When I worked in Petaluma 7 years ago there was a Pueblo del Sol off of McDowell and E. Washington that was really good. Is it still there? Is that the same El Pueblo you guys are talking about? I also remember Rafas in Cotati.
