Ranking up there with the moms videoing their preschoolers fighting each other a posted a while back but... worse!
Teachers stage "there's a gunman on the loose" drill telling them it is not a drill.... while on a camp out so they had to wait to even see there parents after this!

Having once been a 6th grader that went away for week long camp as well as being the cabin leader for 6th graders at the same camp when I was a junior and Senior in HS it just really breaks my heart (when I am not being outraged!). 6th graders as big as they some times feel are still very much little kids. Many of these kids get home sick even when they are having the time of their lives and thoroughly enjoying themselves. For a lot of kids this is their first experience being away from mom and dad more than say overnight at a slumber party. They are nervous about every bump they hear, nervous about people seeing them change, just 'on edge'/ highly self concious/aware in general. Add to the fact they have been away for 4 nights and then this. I just can't fathom how twisted someone had to be to take so many steps to plan this, get others on board, discuss who would do what and what to say etc., follow through with it and then CONTINUE to "play" while you see you are clearly TERRORIZING children. The teachers will need to count there blessings if they are not *seriously* punished for this, lawsuits being the least of their worries. What if one of the kids had a heart condition? Or ran into the woods to escape or tried to subdue the "attacker" or something... I am guessing some will end up with real PTSD over this. These were trusted people with these kids and they totally violated them. It just floors me...

Ok,that is insane and it TOTALLY pisses me off. How could they even THINK that is ok. And to do it without the parents permission? Making the kids think it was really happening? They should be fired. Period.

I agree with everyone here... Definately a lawsuit waiting to happen. Typically schools have an Emergency Preparedness drill.. which I know for us was initiated after 911 or if there's an "intruder" on campus. Basically it's a lockdown procedure but we never call it anything other than we are having a "lockdown" drill.
uhmm.. yeah. I'd be flippin out on those teachers.

How in the world did they get so many people to go along with this plan? I don't know how many teachers/supervising adults were at this camp but wasn't there one rational person there that thought "hmm, maybe this isn't such a good idea"?
