A friend of mine's son recently had Strep throat. It made me remember something, so I thought I would share...
Whenever you have strep, you should get a new toothbrush after you have been on antibiotics for 2 days.
i'm really weird about my toothbrushes anyways.
Did you know that your toothbrush is one of the dirtiest things in a bathroom?
something like 80% of toothbrushes in this test by dateline showed feces on toothbrush bristles b/c people use the toilet, then flush before closing the lid, and with the swish of the water, bacteria gets thrown into the air. Normally sinks are near toilets, and it ends up on your toothbrush.
NASTY, huh?

Lovely! We brush in the shower and the glass door is always closed so maybe we are safe. Of course there's probably all kinds of soap and shampoo on them even tho we clean them off. LOL

We put our toothbrushes in a drawer, and weekly dip them into hydrogen peroxide. You should see all the bubbles. We try to still replace them often.

Ewwww.....I read that about poop too, something like the cooties can fly 10ft away?!
yup, and very few bathrooms are big enough to avoid that. LOL.

Luckily, our toilet and vanity are in separate rooms. The shower and toilet in one and outside of that is the mirror and sink. I always wondered what idiot didn't just make it one big room. Now at least there is one good thing about it!

Mythbusthers did a show about this.
They even kept 2 controlled toothbrushes away from the bathroom, in another room, covered. And somehow those ended up dirty too.
We always close the toilet seat before flushing.

I saw that episode. My son is a Mythbusters fanatic.
I also saw a newscast that talked about a study that was done on the ice in restaurants. That they found more fecal matter, and nasty stuff in general in the ice than in the water in the toilets of the restaurant bathrooms. We have not had ice in our drinks outside of our home since.
