Stacey 07-03-2007, 07:36 PM I don't think I've had fast food in probably.... 7 or 8 years. My3sonsplus1 07-03-2007, 07:41 PM I think it was only once or twice. I know we hot Carl's Jr. one day when we ran out of steam and I knew the cupboards were more or less bare of anything quick and the orangesicle shake sign was calling my name for the 100th time. We don't usually eat "fast food".. but we did go "out to eat" waaaaaaaaaaay too much this month. We had three birthdays, and a celebration of J's baseball season ending that my parents took us out to eat for! LMS 07-03-2007, 08:21 PM uhm... like 30 times. LOL. But to be fair, you don't have a whole lot of other choices when you are stopping in 112 degree new mexico heat and sit down restaurants won't let your dog in. LOL. Theresa 07-03-2007, 08:44 PM We don't eat it anymore. It is hard when we are out on errands, but I just pack tons of fruit, snacks and pb&j to feed an army. Lynette 07-03-2007, 09:01 PM I really can't even begin to count how many times we did in June because I am just recently getting my brain back and it is only a little at a time. Maritza 07-03-2007, 09:15 PM The only fast food we like is "In and Out", and we go there at least once a month. We usually eat homemade heathly/organic and our veggies and fruits from the garden. jellybeanmichelle 07-03-2007, 10:03 PM I don't think I've had fast food in probably.... 7 or 8 years. WOW! I can go a few months without it. Dan on the other hand - I'm working to change his ways. I do have to say, our philosophy (sp?) is Taco Bell is healthier than Burger King or Carl's etc... Plus, TB is way cheaper! We have been slowly, but surely working on cutting out the fast food because we don't want our kids to think it's a regular thing. We want to use it as a treat. Sara 07-03-2007, 10:24 PM :bag Lynette 07-03-2007, 10:57 PM I think that is the wrong bag Sara because mine has some big golden arches, smells like fries, and has about 1000 napkins in the bottom.... Sara 07-03-2007, 11:02 PM I think that is the wrong bag Sara because mine has some big golden arches, smells like fries, and has about 1000 napkins in the bottom.... And a grease stain in the corner??? Lynette 07-03-2007, 11:24 PM Yeah, but now it is in my hair... Lorah 07-03-2007, 11:36 PM We don't eat it...it's probably been since I was a little kid. :) So like ummm a few decades. :) KaisaG 07-04-2007, 10:50 AM Emanuel eats out all the time- me... not so much. I'm with you Colleen... it always makes me feel sick afterwards if I eat the greasy junk! If I go to McDonald's I like their Asian Chicken Salad... Does that count?? LOL karen-clark 07-04-2007, 08:44 PM If you want to change your ways, rent Super Size me and Fast Food Nation. I was a fast food junkie. Not any more! Lorah 07-04-2007, 09:38 PM If you want to change your ways, rent Super Size me and Fast Food Nation. I was a fast food junkie. Not any more! I was totally going to suggest both of those!!! I thought that Fast Food Nation was a great book! There were so many great points made and so much info that I never would have considered.....like the fact that school lunches with meat are made with meat that isn't ever good enough to sell in the grocery stores!!! CRAZY!!! And I loved the experiment with the fast food in the containers at the end of Super Size Me....it was amazing how after so many many weeks the french fries were still non moldy!!!! IT WAS INSANE!!! I think everyone should read/watch those!!! It is really good information. That is one reason I try to stay away from products that say, "Natural ingrediants"......you never really know what is in there.... lornabrown 07-04-2007, 11:17 PM Ditto on Supersize Me. Also - check out www.dietfacts.com to see the statistics on the things you eat out. karen-clark 07-05-2007, 09:40 AM There is another book by the Fast Food Nation guy called Chew On This - it was written for the teen/preteen market and has a lot of the same info but more easily digestible. :) Fallon read it and did a "persuasive essay" on this topic a few months back, which is why we (finally) rented the movies. So she had already boycotted fast food. Kellie_MO5 07-05-2007, 12:15 PM We ate out a few times... sometime sit's just easier.. but what's hard is that my BIL's have worked at Carl's Jr, Taco Bell, and Mc Donalds... We only go to Mc Donalds now, and if we go to taco bell we're *real* careful, and check our food before eating Marisa 07-05-2007, 02:32 PM Ok, June is an unfair sampling! We moved too and I'll admit, we totally took the "easy way" and grabbed burgers or burritos rather than find all our food/kitchen crap. On average we are *fairly* good. Usually only a couple times a month like on grocery night or something. Brianna goes to my ILs once a week while Bill and I bowl in our league and I think they have it once in a while there too. Not every week but probably at least one out of four. :( colleen&Kail 07-06-2007, 01:07 AM i have seen super size me but not fast food nation-and to be honest when i wastched supersize me it made me want mcdonadls......lol Brookepanda 07-06-2007, 01:24 AM i have seen super size me but not fast food nation-and to be honest when i wastched supersize me it made me want mcdonadls......lol you cracked me up! Lynette 07-06-2007, 02:09 AM You know what is funny, is that right after that movie came out and everyone was watching it McDonalds stopped doing the whole "supersizing" thing and brought their soda sizes down a bit but in one of our final trips last week I saw they have these monster sized cups again but they are calling them something else now like Huge or Hugo? McD's can always rely on Americans' short term memory :D becky 07-06-2007, 02:13 AM oh my goodness. that would be McDonalds to do something like that too. |
