I have some fun kid recipes for you guys:

Gak:

2 cups glue
1 1/2 cups water
food coloring

2 level Tsp Borax
Dissolve in 1 cup water

In a zipper bag, combine glue and water until mixed well. Add food coloring. Dissolve Borax into water, then add to the bag. zip together and mix well until the Gak forms.

Kool Aid Playdough

2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
3 Tbs oil
2 cups boiling water
2 packs of kool aid

Mix flour and salt together, then add the kool aid, boiling water and iol. Knead for 10 min. Store in an airtight container.

Peanut Butter Palydough

1 18oz jar peanut butter
6 Tbs honey
non-fat dry milk

mix peanut butter and honey. slowly add dry milk until a playdough ball forms.

Clean Mud

Grate 3-4 bars of Ivory soap into a large bowl. Pour pitcher of warm water to start dissolving the soap (just enough to cover the soap). Slowly add strips of toilet paper, then more water, then more TP until it becomes the consistency of fluffy whipped soap. Store in an airtight container or dispose in the trash, not the toilet.

Everything in the recipe seems to be edible... but I bet it tastes nasty, so probably after one bite no one try for a second :)

I think the kooliaid dough is the most edable, no pb playdough before a year at least (because of the honey and then whenever you are comfy with PB) borax not good and I would think ivory soap yucky too :)

Running the risk of outing myself as a totally boring mommy I ask this question:

What is Gak?

All I know about is that prepackaged Nickolodean Gak which is a slimy kind of clay/playdough stuff but I don't remember if you can make anything out of it? The prepackaged stuff smells *nasty*!!

Thanks! I'm imagining the stuff they used to dump on kids during that old school show on Nick when they would say "I don't know."

Man, I'm really dating myself here.

i'm going to have to try some of these. It will be fun to have the kids make these and then get to play with it.
