I'm on a coffee kick right now, and I am wondering what you put in your coffee to make it your own special thing.
Right now I am doing a little sugar, a little hot cocoa mix, a little vanilla, and a little milk...Yummy!
I always drink Decaf. not only for Mav, but because I have mild MVP (basically an irregular heart beat off and on) so the caffeine would make it worse.
Sooo what do you put in your cup of joe?

I never thought I was old enough to drink coffee :lol Actually, the smell of coffee will often give me a headache. If I got to Starbucks with someone and stay there for awhile, it will make feel ill.

When it's hot, I like to make my own iced mocha-
about 12ozs coffee
2 ozs of mocha mix
2 ozs of FF milk
chocolate syrup to taste
So good. I've been drinking it every morning at work.

I don't even have a coffee pot at home, the only time I drink coffee is via frappicinos at Starbucks.

We brew Starbucks at home and add Coffemate French Vanilla creamer. DH likes about 1/2 coffee, 1/2 creamer! I just like a dash for flavor.
On the weekend is the only time we're "allowed" to buy the premade from SB. DH gets a Venti White Chocolate Mocha Extra Hot and I like a Grande 2-pump white choc mocha (2-pumps is less than their regular amount)

If I am making it at home I just put vanil creamer in it. If I am out in a restaurant, then usually just cream.

When I have been up all night with Jess and I have to work 12 hours the next day sometimes momma needs a little pick me up. I put international delight which is like coffee mate. They have a chocolate carmel that is delicious:thumb

Yeah, I'm not a big coffee fan, unless is has a ton of other crap in it, which makes me not really think of it as coffee anymore...
On a completely unrelated topic, my kids are watching Firehouse Dog in the other room, and I just heard Eli say" FireDog! FireDog is on the way!" (like a super hero or something... TOO funny)

I don't drink coffee. I'm LDS.
If I brew coffee at home, I use vanilla creamer. I usually go to SB and either get 1) triple grande sugar free vanilla low-fat Latte ;) 2) Venti low-fat 2-pump iced cafe con leche 3) Venti orange passion tea lemonade. Yes, I am a high maintenance starbucks drinker :tongue

Ok, I had a tough time voting on this one.
So I decided to do other.
I don't drink coffee. Maybe once in a blue moon.
If I do drink coffee, it has to be the way my great-grandmother would make it when I was a kid. She would put a little bit in the cup and then the rest was milk with some sugar. It tasted mostly of milk with a hit of coffee. Plus, it tasted sweet from the sugar. So, if I'm going to have coffee, it has to have mostly milk in it.
Strawberries and cream from Starbucks. I should support the Mom and Pop coffee houses though, like North light Books in Cotati. I also sometimes get the smoothies from Oliver's too.

before I converted I was an occasional coffee drinker. Never was much of a fan tho. Sometimes I would order decaf lattes or mochas.

can't you drink decaf now? I thought it was soda and then caffeine that you couldn't have ...well that and alcohol. and other stuff too.

No, it's not the caffeine. The church has no official position on caffeine, it's left up to the individual. Some people have ventured to guess it's the tannic acid, but no one really knows. All coffee and all tea that is not herbal tea (including green tea) is not allowed. The spirit of the law (the word of wisdom) is to not be addicted to anything. So, following that spirit, yes, you can't have caffeine either, and some members do follow it that way. Interestingly, at BYU there are no caffeinated beverages sold on campus.

I use the French Vanilla creamer and coffee beans from TJ's. My fave coffee right now is the Ethopian one and I mix it in with the bulk Starbucks from Costco. Sometimes I will add some ovaltine, but mostly the creamer is all I need. I love that stuff!

When I drink coffee I put vanilla creamer, and half a pack of instant hot chocolate :)
I hardly ever drink coffee though....and when I go to SB I either order the coffe frap. or the mocha frap.....decaf of course since I'm a nursing mama!

I like half coffee half milk. When I am at home I froth the milk myself so it feels like a latte. Yummy. When at SB I usually have a grande nonfat mocha with whip or a grande percent vanilla latte. Mmmm... I love coffee.

My Mom (who is still LDS) told us when we were growing up (I was raised LDS) that decaf is not allowed because all of the chemicals and toxins they use to remove caffeine from coffee is just as bad as the caffeine in coffee. That is why even decaf is not allowed-- I don't know how true that is... I'm just regurgitating what I was told :)

We have an espresso machine at home, so I make myself a 1% latte with Torani Hazelnut syrup. It's not as good as Starbucks but the $ is right!
