We have corned beef and cabbage with Irish Soda bread along with carrots and potatos. I don't really eat the meat. This is a dinner my Mother has made every year. I love the Irish soda bread!

I personally can't stand corned beef and cabbage! Back in my "younger" days... remember those... before marraiage and kids :) I think I used St. Patrick's Day as any other college student did. It was an excuse to go out to the clubs and have a few drinks! ;)

Dude, I hate to tell you,but that is celebrating!

I make Corned beef and potatoes and drink green champagne. I used to drink a lot of scotch to celebrate but with Amelia and all I had to tone it down.

I go to Whole Foods and get a corned beef without the nitrates and add potatoes. Hb doesn't like the cabbage. Then I make something green for dessert.

I thought one had to kiss the Blarney Stone? IDK much about St. Patty's day...but when I was in grade school they used to tease me with the "Erin Go Braugh (sp?)" BS :shake

HOLD THE PHONE! Whole foods carries a corned beef WITHOUT nitrates?!?!!? How is it "corned" then? and how much does it cost if you know....we use to LOVE to have corned beef and cabbage! But we had to stop cause I was told there wasn't any such thing as corned beef without the preservatives by two butchers....guess they didn't know what they were talking about huh!

We usually celebrate...sometimes with my family or just us. We always do green milk for the kids. This year I was thinking about making green sugar cookies with the boys.

It's more expensive and I'm not sure how much but it's worth it. I do it in the crock pot like I normally do. It's not as red due to not having the perservatives. I will check the next time I'm there. I do a regular one for the rest of the family and one little one for me.

:yeah I think I went out drinking once right after college. I've had corned beef once, ages ago. I remember liking it! Maybe I'll try some this year. We regularly eat potatoes and cabbage at this house, so that wouldn't be anything special! :lol

What sort of dessert would be green?? All I can think of is mint ice cream!
Gotta go check out whole foods...
