View Full Version : Car Seat Laws from CHP Lorah 08-23-2007, 04:34 PM http://www.chp.ca.gov/pdf/4_steps_for_kids.pdf justamom 08-24-2007, 01:28 AM I wish the Highway Patrol would add the safety recommendations that children under 4' 9" should be in a booster seat. It saves a lot of lives. TaivensMama 08-24-2007, 01:57 AM I love though that they are saying to keep the babies and toddlers rear facing upto 35 pounds if your seat allows, it too has saved countless lives!! Soooooo much safer than Forward facing! Lorah 08-24-2007, 10:39 AM Oh ya.....way safer!!! At the CHP thingy that Sara set up and we went to a while back they told us that we are one of the only countries that turns the kids around at 1 year.....that so many other places wait until 2, 3, and even 4 years old.....its just safer.....their little spines can't take the strain in an accident! Mav of course wont be turning around anytime soon because he is so small.....but hey....I wouldn't turn him around at one even IF he was heavy enough....I'll probably have him rear facing until at least 2. TaivensMama 08-24-2007, 08:42 PM Great Lorah!!..Taiven was rear facing until he was 35 months....one month shy of being three...but that's when he hit 35 pounds, the limit of his seat's rear facing weight range...as you can see he still was very comfortable http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f13/seasynsdiapers/TaivenAO-2.jpg Lorah 08-25-2007, 03:09 PM sooo cute!!!
