We went out to Graton today to the Walker Apple farm. They have 27 different kinds of apples. They are SO yummy! We got a half bushel of Gravenstein, Gala and Macintosh for $12. They also sell bushels for $22. We have SO MANY APPLES. Im going to make some Danish apple bars tonight. I highly recommend going there! We are going to go back in October when they have my favorite pink ladies.

WE LOVE WALKER APPLES!!!!!!! We have been going there for about 4 years now!!! We go in October as that is when the best baking apples are prime for my stuff..... I use all sorts of odd ball ones in addition to the granny smiths...

We just talked about when we will go yesterday....it will probably be the first week of Oct this year for us.... Thanks for posting the info....

Went out to Walker's this afternoon, dang that is a drive! Bought 1/4 of Macintosh for eating/baking and 1/4 of Gravenstein to can some applesauce. I think I am being a little overzealous especially thinking I am going to cook much in these temperatures so it is a good thing apples keep :D It was funny but on the way home Alaina chowed down 2 apples all on her own, Salina has to pry the cores out of her hands before she ate them seeds and all!

Aren't they yummy? Ya, the drive is a little out there and I wasnt too fond of the one way dirt driveway but the apples are worth it!

So 1/4 bushel? So you got the 1/2 bushel total?

That's too funny about Alaina

Yeah, 1/2 bushel total and I forgot to take them out of the car yesterday so when I was taking Salina to school Alaina starts yelling for HER apples and was eating one in each hand there and back :)

Salina kept asking me "Isn't it hard driving on this road? Aren't you nervous? Isn't it scary? Don't you think you are going to fall off the edge? What if another car comes?" :lol I told her I was an amazing driver with ninja like reflexes but I don't think she was amused ;)

LOL, way to keep you calm while driving under pressure.

We went on Saturday so we did run into 3 cars on that road. I was driving and was nervous enough with the big pilot. Some people really are idiots. They wait until the narrowest part to try and pass. There was even a huge truck that was easily going 35mph past us. He must have lived there b/c it didnt even phase him.

LOL! That was the thing, I was in the van and didn't think twice about it because it was a weekday but I did tell her that the weekend would be rough!

You two are funny....we live right down the street from there so those are my daily roads! People do drive like maniacs, but I guess you get used to it.
