We have a 5 year old dog named Duke. He's a Beagle-Rottweiler-Chow mix. JR got him for me a week after we met, when he was newborn. Jr's sisters dog had puppies and duke was from that litter. Jr's mom took another puppy from there and named her Lucy so Duke sometimes goes to ohio to see his sister :love
Duke is a pretty tall dog (especially since most people know of him as a "beagle-mix" - b/c it takes less time to explain and we get less strange looks than when we say he's a beagle-rott-chow) and weighs about 70lbs.
He and Brendan are best friends :love

Here are two pics of Duke (the first one is he and Lucy as puppies)

We have a dog named Cara. She's a malmute-sp?/sheppard mix. Cara is pretty big so Caty calls her a horse and wants to ride her. She is a love, but so hairy that I can't let her in most of the year. We also have a beta fish named butterfly. I'll see if I can find some pictures.

We have a Pug named George who we adopted from the pound 4 years ago...he was a total neglected mess, infested with fleas, skinny and so sad! The first year we had him, he would follow us from room to room, never wanting us out of his sight. Now he is fat and happy:)

He does this thing we call the "Stevie Wonder"...when you scratch his butt, he moves his head side to side like Stevie Wonder, George alos likes to run on the treadmill. We say, "Geirge, do you want to go for a run?" we pat the treadmill and he jumps on it, waiting for us to turn it on!

We have one dog, an Aussie Mix named Barley. He is a rescue from the SPCA. He is 3 years old now. Because he is a rescue he is very scared of people...mostly men, as he was probably beaten by one before we adopted him. He LOVES children and babies! And he likes pretty much all women. He is Maverick's BEST friend! and vice verse! He is very loyal and protective of his family! He can sit, stand up, speak, lay down, jump, go to Travis ,Check on Maverick, and go to Lorah on command with voice and ASL, and we are working on him sneezing on command right now too..he almost has that one down. lol! WE LOVE OUR DOG!

We also have 4 fish....their names are Spot, Blacky, Fair they are all goldfish that have been with us for a number of years now and getting HUGE, and Little Fucker (but we don't call it that anymore because of Mav, so its new name is Little Sucker)...it's a sucker fish.

We also had a blue parakeet named Bangle that we LOVED, but saddly he has passed. :(

Here are some pictures of Barley:

Salina has a big fat rat named Gus, a stuck up little cat named Flower (10), A very sweet neutered Holland Lop bunny named Max and an evil attack mixed breed bunny name Sweetpea. The 3 Great Danes are mine: Athena (7), Bacchus (4 1/2), and Chloe (3, 2 mo older than Alaina) http://www.lysisdane.com

All of them are indoor pets except the bunnies who are in a hutch outside. Alaina has actually been asking for a kitty lately but Chloe already hates Flower (for good reason) who I think would have a stroke if we brought another pet home as she was the first.

The dogs are on the website above but here is a pic of the bunnies:

I know I have a pic of Flower glowering at the camera somewhere and I dunno about Gus?

My parents had dreams of breeding them...umm not so much....Max was gay.

No pets right now, but Gianni loves my parent's cats. He crawls around after them whispering "kee-y kat" - for kitty cat. It's very cute. The cats are very docile, thankfully, and don't seem to have a problem with Gianni "petting" them which looks more like he's pulling at their ears. I have a feeling he'll be asking for a kitty cat or puppy in no time :)

We have a kitty her name is Lucy but we just call her kitty...she is still really tiny, she is 2 years old but she remains the size of a kitten...I am normally not a cat person but she is very cool...she opens the cupboards with her paws and lays inside them and stays away from anyone new in our house, she is so gentle she has never scratched anyone. here is a pic of her

We have a stinky, crotchety old dog named Orca. He's a shitzu, losopso mix. He's really my parent's dog, and I love him for the most part, but lately it's just been tolerating him. He's getting so old that he doesn't have much patience for Kailyn and has taken to nipping....the little shit. I would love to have a bigger dog, but it's not in the cards at the moment. When we have our own place we want to get a Golden Retriever or Lab (mine) and a Shelty (Brayden's).

We have 2 dogs , a cat and poor Dory the fair fish died this morning. Jacob hasn't noticed yet, so we aren't sure if we will replace her or just let it go.

Casey is a rescue dog John got before he met me. She will be 13 this year and acts like a 5 year old dog. She is Rott/Lab/boarder collie? mix

Charlie (Charlie Brown's Serendipity on his papers :D ) is an English Springer Spaniel who turned 5 this year.

Camo Kitty is our rescue kitty we got earlier this year. He is seriously the coolest cat in the world. Jacob had been asking for a pet and we aren't too fond of cats because our last 2 were duds. We got Camo and he is so sweet, likes to be outdoors, and lets the kids do anything to him. He and Charlie are best buds (maybe a little too close sometimes) and he nuzzles charlie and sleeps on him.

Your cat is cool Sara!! Salina loves your cat :) I know what you mean about duds too, we got Salina a kitten from the shelter for her birthday when she was 9 or 10 and he was just such a spaz and so rowdy he would beat up on our older cat Flower and when we got our male Dane the cat just lost his freaking mind and would not come out of Salina's room....even to use the litter box :mad Sooo....Elvis went to live with Grandma, the crazy cat lady but that has kept us from getting anymore, they just seem hit or miss sometimes.

We have 2 dogs. Indie (name is short for Indecisive.. as we couldn't agree on a name).. is 10 years old.. and is an Olde English Bulldogge (rare breed).. and Piglet "Piggy" for short.. is a rescued pitbull/mix we think.. Joe literally scooped him off the street near Oakland stadium 3 years ago.. we think he's around 5 years old.. Indie's always been rambunctious.. and we heavily supervise her around Alessa.. b/c I don't trust her not to knock her on her butt (a favorite past time of hers before we had a child).. Piggy will lick you to death.. He's a sweet dog.. but has a lot of separation anxiety issues and is IN LOVE with Joe..

I honestly am looking forward to not having pets one day.. sad to say.. but one is getting old and crotchety.. the other one is just HIGH maintenance..

1st photo taken a few months ago..
2nd picture taken in 2002.. Yes.. she has some funny expressions!

What about the cat?? Mastiffs are so cool!! Chloe's handler at dog shows was the president of the Mastiff Club of America last year so if you really want one, I could hook you up with some reputable breeders ;) Oh, and if you feed high quality food the poop isn't that bad, they are only huge and smelly if you feed doggy junkfood.

We have one dog now, a female German Shepard named Berlin (hehe, get it?). We got her from Matt's cousins ex boyfriend, who couldn't keep he rbecause he wasn't home enough and didn't want her to be left alone so much. She's a purebred (I guess, we have her papers, but *someone* spilled blue sport drink on them... ugh!) but she's a GREAT dog. SO gentle with the kids, nice, mellow, a big lapdog, if you'd let her be...lol. We also *had* a beagle/terrier mix named Snoopy, but he was too hyper for the kids (jumped up on EVERYTHING) and neither of us really had the time to sit and try to train him, and we jsut didn't have the room he required for his level of energy, so we gave him to a family at church that has a few acres and had been looking for a dog. So far he's been doing good, and hasn't caught any of their chickens, yet... LOL. We also have a 50 gal tank with some fish.. some clown loche, an albino catfish, a few suckers and a couple other kind that I just don't remember the name of...lol
Here's Berlin about a week after we got her (we got her about a year ago, I guess... wow, didn't know we've had her for so long already!)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/giacaligirl/pics3047.jpg
aaannnddd... I do have a pic of the tank, but it's not on this computer, so oh well...lol... ooh, but I *DO* have a pic of snoopy when we first got him as a 7 week old pup :( I miss him... but he is happier where he is now...

Well, the cat had an issue and I didn't want 6 more cats being born under my bed :lol Caden was just too rambunctious with her too and she was starting to get skittish. I am definitley NOT telling Scott you know reputable mastiff breeders... he would say he was going out for awhile and come home with a puppy. Yikes! Once we get moved, I'm hoping we can get a lab that failed one of the service dog programs. Now that I think about it, I should call and put my name on the list.

We have several pets. Daisy is a german hunting terrier x fell terrier. Lots of energy. Would love to find her a new home but won't take her to shelter. Tiger-orange bulleyes tabby. He is antisocial with non family members. So much so that some friends have never seen him. We had three goldfish now we have 5 goldfish. Girls won two more at the baby and child fair on Saturday.

I don't think you have to pay anything for them but they will let you know why they were unable to become a service dog. I was actually hoping we would qualify to get Caden an autism trained service dog but it's really expensive to get a dog trained to work with kids with autism (over 10k when I checked into it). Plus, I don't think they have anywhere any in California that they do the training.

We have two dogs both rescued from the pound. In 2003 when our first home was about to close escrow we started looking since we had both wanted a dog for a while. We started searching for shelters on the internet... BAD IDEA!! There were so many pictures!! I made Bill drive to Corning to get Denver the very next day. He is supposedly an Australian Shepherd mix but he looks more like an over sized wiener dog. LOL He was 12 weeks old when we got him. We had him for all of three days when Bill called me at work...

DH: "So, don't you think it would be a good idea to have two dogs so they can have a friend and entertain each other?"
Me: Why? Where are you?
DH: Willits
Me: What the $*#& are you doing in Willits?
DH: Picking up Raider... *woof*

Raider is a black lab mix according to his paperwork but we see a lot of pointer in him too. We go back and forth about keeping them now that we rent. We have plenty of room (we live on an acre) but there is no fence so they spend a lot of time in the *small* kennel which doesn't seem fair to me. Every time I think about letting them go though I get very teary. We've agreed that we'd never take them to a shelter unless there was NO other option.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/snowfamily/1469752900/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1046/1469752900_bce99b86cf_o.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="Snow Dogs 3" /></a>

And recently we added a kitten to the mix... "Saymeow" as named by Brianna.

Marisa-That was us with our lab mix. When we moved up to N CA she got a nice kennel built for her but it was no longer accesable to the house(as it had been in S CA). It was on side of house and I felt guilty since we never spent any time with her. But knowing big dogs fate at kennels(meaning no being adopted easily I couldn't do that to her). So we kept her. Till one day my dad mentioned this guy who lives up by him looking for a dog. Now Faith(thats the labs name)rides in the back seat of a cadilac, gets doggy bags when the guy and his aunt go out to eat. Basically living it up with another large dog. I just wish I hadn't given in to my desire to have another small dog when we found new home for Faith. Before Faith we had chihuahua that went everywhere with us. His name was Shortstop. He died in his sleep on summer while we were out of town.

Oh, I totally agree! Unless I knew for sure they were going somewhere better I wouldn't give them up. I love them too much! If it were up to me we wouldn't get any more after these two. DH is always talking about getting a little dog though. Seriously, they're just as much work!
