I have a huge pot of beef stew on the stove.... I spend a good part of the morning chopping all the veggies and the cut of beef I got from the butcher. I jsut got it all in the pot and added my herbs....:cook It should be ready in a few hours....
I'm also going to make some homemade buscuits later to go wtih it.
I might also make some apple crisp if Mav ever takes a nap.
YUMMY!!!!

We're having Oktoberfest tonight... beer, pretzels, brauts and potato salad.
Tonight is Hamburger Pie. Just like shepherd's pie...a casserole ground beef, green beans, tomato sauce, with mashed potatoes on top. It's John's favorite meal and a yummy cold day supper :)

Jackie, you made a :giggle I LOVED Taco Bell when I was pregnant...now, not so much.
For dinner? who knows...Fridays we usually go out. My DH is rarely home for dinner, so I usually punish him by not making anything for him...I'm half-joking, half-serious. ;)
But this weather calls for a hot soup/stew night, Lorah your stew sounds yum!

Ohh I just checked on it....ohhh it smells SOOOO GOOD!!!!! I am going to let it simmer for another hour before I add some flour to thicken the broth....ohhh my...it tastes good too......
Its really easy too.....and it could be easier if I were to buy that pre-chopped combo of carrots/onions/celery that Trader Joes sells for soups etc.... and just get the really small red or white potatoes and the pre-cut meat from the butcher...then just toss it all in with some herbs and let it go...
I like BIG chunks so I just buy everything whole and cut or chop it all myself...so that takes a llittle time...but it is sooo worth it.....

Sara - you always have the tastiest sounding food! I have yet to try those green chili enchiladas that you posted a while back. Maybe this weekend.
I just got done stuffing some chicken breasts with spinach goat cheese and olives.
seasyn: Half lb beef combo burrito, no red sauce, no onions. A side of nachos and a coke :bag

I already posted it in another thread, but I just put ours in the oven. I made herb and cheese stuffed pasta shells w/ marinara. I'll also make super garlicky garlic bread and sauteed zucchini. Can't wait! Sounds like everyone is having a yummy dinner tonight!

For some reason on rainy days I get the urge for "Calde de Ros" .. Beef soup from Pepe's on Sebastopol Rd..... I like to add extra jalepinos to warm me up ... it's also the soup I eat when I am not feeling good ... just love the warm fuzzy feeling it gives me ...
i'm excited for dinner tonight. We are going to this place called Mama's Daughters. It's this place that only makes like 5 meals a day that you can pick from and it's family style cooking. Tonight is chicken and dumplings. YUMMM

Kathleen Dustin cooks? God I wish Emanuel knew how to cook. If I left dinner up to him we'd have had Taco Bell too. He burnt a frozen pizza til it smoked once. He can handle chili dogs... and that's about it.
We had tortilla soup in bread bowls yesterday.

Oh ya! The rule in our house is you arent working that day then you cook. So he cooks Thurs-Sat. I cook on the days we both work b/c he doesnt get home until 7/7:30pm.
He is a good cook. Not great, but good. I tend to be a little picky though :tongue
I really am lucky with him. We pretty much do everything 50/50.

We've been trying recipes from the Raley's "Something Extra".
We had the Pasta with Mascarpone Cheese and homemade pesto, only the pesto was store bought. :)
