It seems like overnight the Albertson's in Petaluma became Lucky. My question is.. what do they do with all the food that was packaged (like the day before) with the Albertson's logo?? I mean.. it's not like the shelves dwindled in store brand products.. I went in a day or so after the changeover and there were NO alberson's brand products.. I hope they don't just throw it away.. think of all the waste...I also think of all the paper/plastic that was wasted in the packaging under the Albertson's name..
I guess after reading Jackie's post there are still some albertson's stores around.. so maybe they just ship it over to those..

The same thing happened up here in the SR store a month ago when they changed over....I am wondering that too.... I hope they didn't throw it all away (which is what I fear) but they donated it or something...

The change has been in process for almost 6 months now so they likely dwindled down the reserves in the warehouses until they reached an acceptable loss and got some credit back from the headquarters to that stores inventory costs and then yeah, chucked it or the employees bought it for dirt cheap.

I'm thinking they had some sales, and the rest went to Grocery Outlet ;)

Yeah, I bet the Food Bank and the Grocery Outlet got most of it.

i wonder if some might have gone to any local shelters if there are any around here. I would hate to find out if any food was tossed cuz I surely would have gone through the trash to get some free "good" food LOL
