Roy feels he needs a man's meal in the morning to sustain him during his hard day. Pretty much everyday is 2 eggs, chicken sausage and toast/corn bread. I don't like him eating that many eggs and he's so tired of eating the same thing. Oatmeal sends him to the bathroom so that's a no and he can't do milk so no cereal. Any ideas on things I'm not thinking of?

Dh grabs a breakfast bar and a bag of rice cakes in the morning. Maybe a bowl of cereal with a piece of fruit. Sorry I'm not much help!

Hmmmm. Chris only *eats* lattes for breakfast. The boys eat tons of eggs. Meals are such a pain! Do they eat a lot of black beans in Honduras? What came to mind was what I ate in Guatemala: black beans and rice, but then that would usually come with a fried egg! Gosh, we are just all about eggs over here...ham omelets, fried eggs, scrambled, poached, french toast (more egg), etc.

Scott eats a protein bar or protein shake... so not much help there. However, he will sometimes scramble egg beaters and make an omlet. Would Roy eat those? They are just egg whites, so not so much cholesterol.

I've been trying to come up with something for Caden to eat in the mornings that is protein based. He doesn't like eggs but will eat "breakfast" meats... I know he will get tired of chicken sausages soon :lol

Mine usually has a cup of coffee, cappachino or espresso in the morning. Sometimes he will add cereal, protein shake or an egg. When he's home from work though I will usually make him breakfast which can be just about anything.

well... for cereal.. there's always almond milk, soy milk, lactaid if it's an intolerance that he has...

Sometimes I will pan cook some black forest ham and melt Jack cheese on it, and put it on a toasted English muffin (delish!!)

there's good ole bagel with cheese and turkey sausage (with/without the egg)..
grits
biscuits and gravy (with sausage bits)

Scott will eat a few slices of peaches, a glass of juice, and will take with him either a bagle & cream cheese or an english muffin w/p.butter. This is all assuming I make it for him of course.... otherwise he won't eat anything.

jr rarely eats breakfast too, but when he does its a breakfast bar or poptart in the car on the way to work.

We've been on a fruit kick lately, so I've been making fruit smoothies the night before and putting it in the fridge.
I either use yogurt, frozen yogurt, or none. He's not a big fan of the yogurt after taste. Foodnetwork has some good recipes.

Dh usually has his herbalife shake for breakfast and lunch.

He'll usually have oatmeal or cereal, but if he's feeling saucy he'll have some eggs. I make some delicious beans and we have an English breakfast every once in a while...eggs, beans, tomato slices and some sausage and toast. There's so much there that you can go with one egg instead of two. Maybe try that? Just cutting back to one egg? Other than that we're not much help because eggs are usually a breakfast staple!

What about making some muffins? Or is that too girly? Will doesn't eat breakfast unless I make it for him (and I'm not getting up at 4am to do that!). Or getting some bagels from Sonoma Valley Bagel (I love those!) and some flavored cream cheese? I find that to be really filling in the morning. Or toasting it and melting cheese on it (like cheddar, pepper jack, something he would like). What about just a plain old sandwich. I do that for Will the night before sometimes when I think about it. That way he's getting his protein and everything.

Travis has a bowl or 2 or 3 of cold cereal. He uses either milk, rice milk, or soy milk depending on what cereal he has.

Sometimes I make an omlet with one yolk per person and then two white per person so that it is much healthier.

We also do oatmeal or cream of wheat when its really cold outside.

If it's an intolerance to milk there's also Lactose Free milk (NOT the same as lactaid) which tastes pretty good.. just like milk, but a little sweeter...

Breakfast... there's always pancakes, waffles, smoothies (can be very filling)... you could do maybe a 1 egg omlet with the sausage cut up into it and a bell pepper or something (or, like someone else suggested, maybe use just the whites, or 1 egg white and one whole egg)... I really don't know much more.. Matt doesn't eat breakfast during the week except for cereal sometimes

Thanks for all of your ideas. I'm so tired of him griping about eating the same thing. Even when he cooks for himself it's the same stuff. I do make muffins and have other bread items like french toast and waffles but he still considers it the same. We also do eat a lot of beans and he will have them for breakfast too. Beans are totally a Honduran staple. We also don't eat red meat or pork so he says he will start growing feathers soon.

The milk thing with Roy is so strange. Even soy and lactaid really ruin him. I haven't tried rice or almond, I will look into that.

On the island he would just have coffee and some sort of bread in the morning and then a really big lunch and good size dinner. Just more things for him to have to adjust to living here. Thanks again. :)

Neil is usually sleeping at "breakfast time" but even on days he gets up early to go to work he has a big helping of Air too...he might have a gatorade but unless I make him potatoes o brien or something he won't eat...and I never know when he is getting up or has an early day so I don't know when to cook for him...so I usually don't...he also sometimes brings those little packs of oatmeal to work but he always brings them back so I don't get why he even bothers, I guess he intends on eating them but I don't think he can stomach eating for a few hours after he wakes up

Is there a reason that he can't stick to his same "routine" here? Is his schedule totally different?

If he likes corn bread you can make corn pancakes. There is a rec on the back of the little corn bread box.. ( the small bule box....) Its yummy and doesn't need anything added so you can eat them on the go if needed.

My Dh gets a coffee around 10ish and thats it. Even on weekend we have "brunch" around 11 and then have dinner 7ish. I have a breakfast bar.

That's what I was thinking. My stepdad (Bolivian) has coffee and bread with jam and then he has a big meal in the middle of the day. I can imagine how Roy sounds because my stepdad is serious about his meals.

Is there a reason that he can't stick to his same "routine" here? Is his schedule totally different?
