PURCELL, Okla. - A grocery store stocker was arraigned Monday on first-degree murder charges in the killing of a 10-year-old girl in what authorities said was an elaborate plan to eat human flesh.

Authorities believe Underwood lured the 10-year-old into his apartment, beat her on the head with a wooden cutting board and suffocated her with his hands and duct tape.
Police Chief David Tompkins said investigators believe Underwood sexually assaulted Jamie after he killed her and planned to eat the corpse.
Meat tenderizer and barbecue skewers found in his apartment were intended for the little girl, Kuykendall said.
According to a police affidavit, Underwood confessed that he killed Jamie, telling FBI (http://search.news.yahoo.com/search/news/?p=FBI) agents: "Go ahead and arrest me. She is in there. I chopped her up."
Police said that while there were deep saw marks on the girl's neck, she had not been dismembered.

Ya... I saw this on today's noon news while I was eating lunch. Let's just say if I wasn't done eating when they started telling the story I sure was after they were done! Things like that make me sick!! :mad:

That is one of those kinds of headlines that when I saw it I knew I didn't want to read the story but did anyways much to my dismay. I keep hoping my dh doesn't see it or hear about it, he gets so worked up over this stuff like the guy who shot his wife and baby and then ran off to England. He was so upset by that and it makes him so paranoid about the kids.

Lynette: JR is the EXACT same way. Back in our hometown in Texas like 2-3 weeks ago, there was a man who climbed through a 2nd story window to rape a 4 year old girl in the middle of the night. When she started to make noise, he jumped out the window and got away. (Side note: They suggested that you NEVER use gender specific window coverings for a childs bedroom as it attracts predators - you know that man never SAW into her 2nd floor window, but the pink curtains drew him to it according to the police) JR was SOO angry when I told him. He went on about how it didn't even have to be HIS kid, if that ever happened to a kid in his neighborhood, there would "be hell to pay".

James is the same way too! I think all good daddy's are! ;) I had heard that about the window coverings before. Have a few friends who work in the "police" field... that's why our window coverings are yellow in Sevannah's room with a white sheer and red in Jazper's room (also with a white sheer). It's sad that you can never be too careful anymore about anything.
