I know there are a few crafty moms here. but what do you do?

I love to scrapbook and kind of altered paper craft, cards, etc.

I love to knit, and sew. I am teaching myself to crochet. I need a little help on it but I am trying, right, that is what counts. haha

I would love to learn how to hand embroidery

LOVE CRAFTS! I knit regularly (mostly kid sweaters and scarves), but I love to do all kinds of things, or at least I used to in the past. I love to sew, but I'm not a pro. Love to quilt, but again, not a pro. I have done one scrapbook, but I prefer the online kind where they send it to you all bound! Besides that, I like to bind books, use power tools for odd jobs, tie dye, make stuff with beads, draw using charcoal or pencil, illustrate children stories, make simple baskets, etc. My mind is blank, but I have tried lots of crafts. I was voted most creative in junior high and high school...not because I was all that uniquely creative, but because I was always doing crafts. This reminds me...I need to set up next month's crafts night...let me know if you want to come.

Hmmm... Well, I make jewlery (beaded and metal/wire), I knit, loom and crochet (though just the basic stitches. I have to see someone doing it to actually catch on, and haven't found anyone to show me the more complicated stuff... but I'm fine with our scarves and hats...lol). I LOVE photography (and would LOVE a DSLR... maybe someday...)... I love to sew, though I rarely follow patterns. My soap/lip balm/bath bomb etc supplies are due to arrive next Monday, so that's something new I'll be taking on for Christmas... I really love doing anything crafty... I'm just easy like that (though it can get a bit messy when you've just started a project and another completely different one catches your eye...lol)

my mom taught me to crochet when i was 5 so i love doing that when i can. I used to know how to make hats but i have forgotten over the years and now just make blankets and booties. I also know how to quilt but don't get to do that very often. Then of course there is photography and graphic design. My favorites are artsy photos and hand made projects.

I knit, scrapbook, quilt, sew, and back/decorate cakes. I have 2 skirts that I made for me that are almost done. One needs a zipper and hem, the other needs the drawstring threaded then to be hemmed. I'm going to cheat and take them to the tailor to get them hemmed.... :) I was an Independent Instructor for a direct sales scrapbook company for 3 years, so I have a ton of supplies coming out my ears. I'm afraid to go into my room because I have so much stuff!!!!

Pictures of my knitted stuff is on my Flickr page.

I love to sew, draw with pencil, charcoal, pastels, oil paint. I like to work with clay, and love the potters wheel. One day I hope to have my own, and room to put it, lol. I also love photography, graphic design. I can crochet, but am not the best at it. I love making quilt designs and the piece work of it, but want to learn how to do various forms of the actual quilting. I would love to get started on Scrapbooking, and have accumulated enough to get started with my first album, but I have not found the time, and am not sure where to get started. I am thinking of finding a book on scrapbooking just to nudge me, and inspire me with ideas to build from. I would like to dabble in jewelry making for personal use. I love making things from Photos too!

sounds like a crafty group. I would love to learn how to make lip balms and soap, you know the "real" soap haha the kind that takes like months to make. I like to buy them on etsy. but that isn't a craft. well I guess it very well could be hahaha

I want to learn to make soap and candles too!!! I forgot to add I love working with wood. I like to build things!!! I made my kids a toy storage chest 5 years ago, I want to make them a lil kitchen that is their size. I also want to make them a store/stand similar to the one at Target, but taller for their size.

I wonder if Michaels has any class on soap making, or candle making.

I know a Mama in Petaluma who said she would teach me but without the kids because of the dangers of some of the stuff she works with. She makes everything from scratch, no store bought melt down soaps.

I took Chemistry in summer school in high school to get it out of the way and my final project was to make soap. I seriously almost burned down the kitchen and it never turned out!! I would love to make soap too though. I have a little kit to do it from almost 10 yrs ago, but I have never done it.

I sort of scrapbook, and I sort of crochet.... I'm not so good at either...but I like it. I'm generally NOT a very crafty person....though I wish I were.

Yeah, I'm using soap base that's already been made, but am adding my own "special ingredients" to it ;) the lip balm will be wholy from scratch, though, as will the bath bombs... I'm just too afraid of my clumsiness with the little kids around. I'll wait to make cold rpess soap from scratch when they all get a little older and udnerstand that when I say stay out of the kitchen, I *mean* it...lol

hehe do they really ever understand when we mean it? Or do the understand and just not listen?!

So I just cleaned out from under my computer/scrapbook table (it was a mess) and found oh I'd say about 11 different chipboard alphas, and lots of American Craft thickers. buttons, um ribbon, felt. oh gee whiz I could go on. its all in my scrappy room now.
