We ate there tonight and although our food looked pretty and festive.. it was nothing to write home about.. I will have to say Mi Puebo is way better... Then again.. nothing is tasting the same these days..
Also.. it was super loud/echoey in there.. like being in a subway station

We went there a couple of weeks ago. I was excited to go because they have a restaurant in Chico that I have found memories of... but after we ate at the Petaluma one, I remembered it was memories of drinking not eating :lol And it was so loud in there... cement floors, no padding under the tables, nothing on the walls. I was surprised that Caden was able to cope with the noise because I barely could.

mmmmmmmm I Love me some Mi Puebo! My ex boyfriend and I used to eat there once a week for three years! Took a break and went back with hubby a few times until he found out by the owner I went there with the ex all the time. hahahaha that was fun times that day. I just went there last month and oh the flood of memories and good food.

Oh geez... there are a ton
Pizza: The New Yorker, Old Chicago, Pinkeys
Italian: Cuchina Paradiso, Sugo
Sandwiches: Petaluma Market, Mr. Pickles (havent been there but everyone raves), Lombardi's deli
Chinese: Canton, jennie lows (sp?)
Mexican: Mi Pueblo
Some that arent outstanding (IMO) but worth mentioning: Brando's steakhouse, JM Rosens, Dempseys, the jellyfish for breakfast at the Sheriton, I know there is more

:yeah except for Mr. Pickles, we love deli sandwiches and thought theirs were just average. Lucchessi's deli is our all time fav with their baguette sandwiches :) I would also add New York Subs for hot sandwhiches, the Dragon chinese place McDowell, Three Cooks for breakfast, and Giocomo's for Italian :)

I will have to check those places...yum, yum! Thanks!....Last monday in our way to the city we stopped at "Cafe des Croissants" in Santa Rosa, for breakfast and I have to say it was so yummy!...I am very loyal to the Healdsburg Bakery, but this place was good too!..can't wait to go back! I know there is another Backery in Healdsburg that is good too but I have never been there, only walked by, it's the "Cousteau Backery".....anyone been there?

We *used* to have one of these in RP, they used real butter and made croissants like they are supposed to be made but they sold their RP store to some hack who obviously buys these frozen croissants :rolleyes
As for bakeries, Michelle Marie's Patesserie and Cavaliere's in SR and Angelica's in Sebastopol are all great :thumb

I was dissapointed by Tres Hombres. I liked that it was noisy because no one could hear my kid, but the food was blah and way too salty.
Lombardi's has the best tri-tip sandwiches.
Le Bistro, Sooze's Wine Bar, Risibisi and Central Market are all very good restaurants.
Chunky's is good for 'fast' mexican food. They make really good super quesadillas that they fold up like burritos. Mmmmmm.
Julians has AWESOME burgers.
Mr. Pickles is yummy! I was disspointed by Luchessi's Deli...maybe I didn't get the right sandwich.
Breakfast - Tea Room Cafe and Heaven Scent Cafe for quick breakfasts.

I love Cavaliere's cookies... but I think their new store on the Windsor town green has better cookies. They make a really good chicken waldorf sandwich too.

Kathleen.. I think you hit on all the good one's that I know of!! Mr. Pickles is very good.. and they are a funny bunch in there (the staff that is).. I had Jennie Lows when they did the theater district opening festival.. samples were yummy. For Sushi.. I highly recomment Hiro's (drool).. so yummy.. will have to wait until next year to enjoy some
Being from the NJ metropolitan area.. I have to say two thumbs up on the New Yorker pizzaria!!!

FYI on a few restaurants listed.
Brando's is closed.
There is still a restaurant in the Sheraton, it's called Tolay now. We've had some good dinners there. I never even thought about that for breakfast. I'll have to try it now.
JM Rosens isn't called that anymore. I can't remember what the sign says (sorry). Same owners, different name, but we still call it Rosens. LOL

I saw their grill on the East side was a burger place now, did the original place by Dempsey's change their name??? How weird.

Everything has changed so much. We use to LOVE La Familia (sp?) Italian deli but that has changed ownership too.

We went to Pinkeys Pizza tonight and it wasn't near as good as I remember. I think they changed the way they do them b/c ours was thicker and not as tasty. We were just there 2 months ago too!
