As requested i started a new thread.

It was brought up in another thread and I thought it would be a wonderful idea to have the banner ad link open up in a new window rather than the same window. This way people clinking the link do not leave SCM but rather just go to a new window. This would also allow members to comment on the links for new advertisers after visiting the site without having to hunt for the original post.

at this point in time, using the java script we have set up to give all of our advertisers equal "face-time" there is no way to have it open in a new window. IF in the future we find a simpler way to script it without limiting the amount of time each advertiser gets at the top of our advertisers list, AND it allows us to open in a new window, that would be something i'd be willing to look into at that time.

You could always right click, and then click open in new window.

I just open a new window too, or just use the back button to get here. No big deal to me :)

I guess it's just cuz I'm new that I noticed it...I'm sure I'll get conditioned to using the other methods. :)

:yeah

That's what I do! Adding a tab is easy as is a new window. It's no problem for me.
