Was wondering if anyone else was planning on going to the Butter and Eggs Day Parade? We do. I'm hoping to stake out our spot on the Blvd sort of across from movie theater. We've been in that general area the past few years and like it. It doesn't seem to get as crowded as other areas since it is near the end of the parade. I plan on having dh drop the girls and I off to stake out our space while he takes ds to coach pitch practice(ds may walk in parade with Boy Scouts instead still waiting to see what he says).

I was thinking of trying to go to the Apple Blossom parade but wondering how early we would have to get there to get a good spot. I think Alaina would have a hard time having the attention span to watch an entire parade let alone hang out on the sidewalk for a long time.

Can't help you there as we always go to Butter and Eggs Day not Apple Blossom parade.
we aren't going. JR won't last that long adn I highly doubt Brendan will even know what's going on. LOL

Both parades on on Saturday. The Butter and Eggs Parade starts at noon but you need to get there earlier to find parking within reasonable walking distance and to stake your spot(especially if you want to bring a chair and/or kids).

We're going to Butter & Eggs! We went last year, and Daniel just loved it :) Apparently we're meeting people from DH's work.

We're not going to either. James is working hard on the weekends trying to get out backyard landscaped so I can hang out outside with the kids this summer. We've only been in our house for 4yrs! The front was landscaped when we bought it and we have been doing upgrades on the inside pretty much since we moved in. :)

If anybody does go to the Butter & Eggs Day Parade tomorrow -- look for Mikayla. She will be riding a horse behind her friend in Sonoma County Animal Shelters lineup. We are #145. I've never been to or done this parade, I'm looking forward to it & Mik is ecstatic! See ya there! :)
how cool! i bet she'll have a blast

Tasha -- I couldn't see the entry number, but was she wearing a red helmet? If so, I saw her!

We couldn't believe what a difficult time we had finding a place to camp out this time! Finally we gave up and sat off a bit on a curb just off the parade route (4th and C). People walked in front of us most of the time, which kind of sucked. Luckily a lot of the floats were big :D

We had no problem finding place to sit. Got there probably between 11:15 and 11:30(didn't look at cell phone). First we walked ds down to find Cub Scout group. Dh stayed with him till the parade started. The girls and I wandered down to the Blvd across from movie theater(found lots of empty spaces). I did find the parade entrants a lot skimpier on hand outs this year compared to past years(sitting in same general spot as past years). They'd hand stuff to little girl sitting in her stroller next to Jules and then hand to the people just past my oldest dd(our group was Jules on dh lap, dh, me and the oldest dd). We sat on 4th street the first year we watched and the people over there to be much ruder far as taking handouts from kids, walking/sitting in front of you hence the reason we moved to the Blvd the following year.

Jennie-
That was her! We had a good time, but kinda wish we could have seen the parade, too! Parking was a nitemare for us. But, all in all it was fun! I will add a pic tomorrow. :) Nite!
