Christmas Tree Recycling

Christmas trees can be recycled into mulch and compost

For a $5 donation Girl Scouts will pick up your tree and bring it to a recycling location!

Call the County Recycling Hotline(which should direct your tree pick up to a group in your area doing the pick up) 565-3333 from Dec 14-Jan 12 to schedule a pick up on Dec 28, 29, or Jan 5, 6, 12 or 13

Remember: No flocked trees, no stands, tinsel or decorations, please!

Thank you to those who supported Girl Scout Troop 1. They are now done with recycling but plenty of other groups are still picking up. You can reach them by calling the county recycling hotline listed above.

Cool, we have used the Scouts before and I would much rather give them the $$ than just leave it out for the garbage man and I think I am chucking this bad boy out the door by the 27th. Do you know if Jessica's troop is doing this area Lorrie?

Lynette-I believe so. I'd call the direct number for her troop. I know they are picking up this weekend 29/30 and again Jan 5/6

I just called today. They will be by on the 6th starting at around 9:30am.
Totally cool! We took our tree down last night.
I will be happy when the tree leaves for a good cause, instead of waiting 6 months for Dan to cut it and put it in the yard waste.

Michelle-Thank you for calling for pick up. The girl scouts love the extra money they make doing this.

Just wondering, it's about 11:15am and the tree has not been picked up yet.
Should I call them again? I would hate to leave the money outside.
I would rather hand it to them personally.

They met up around 9:30 at the leader's house but pickup times depends on where you are on their list. You can leave the money in an envelope under your front porch mat(if you have one). Not sure if the direct number is the leaders home phone or cell.

Sounds then they are pretty busy.
Well, when I do leave, if they are not here, I'll tape it to the door, as the foot mat is very wet.
Thank you!
