I read in the paper this morning they are projecting gas to go up to
$4.00 a gallon! My husband and I both work around windsor and we started carpooling together a couple months ago. It has actually been nice, we get a little extra time together, get coffee, drop off our son to day care and come home together. What will you do if ( or when ) gas goes to $4.00 a gallon?

I can't even imagine gas getting that high. I can still remember when i was driving 45 miles each way to school and gas got as low as $1.04 a gallon. There is no way I can afford to drive that much now. Thank goodness we only have to fill our tank once a month becuase most of our driving is taking kayla to school and i try to hit the shopping on the same trip since we drive right past safeway.

That is nuts...it is really getting out of control. I will not go out now...just because I want to...but plan my driving....to fit a lot into one day outing just to save on gas.

When I got my license gas was 99 cents. My Mom would give me $10 a week for gas and that was usually enough! When it wasn't, I'd still a roll of times from my Dad's closet and make my brother go in and pay. LOL!

It would really suck to pay $4 for gas but I don't think it would change our driving habits too much. It probably should but most likely wouldn't.

I was talking about it to my husband...I kind of thought that $4 would stink; but we still would be driving. He thought it would effect the "kids" most. I too was given 10 bucks to fill my car when I was a teenager and it got me through.....I cant imagine how many parents can afford to give their 'teen' $40.00++ in gas money ?

I talked with DH about this last night, and he reminded me when it was .98cents. I had forgotten about that. But it was one summer after I got my license.... speaking of...I have to go to the actual DMV to renew this next year cause my last 2 were by mail. I hate the DMV.

That is insane.. I know the mileage reimbursement rate is going up to .50 per gallon.. so I figured something was stirring.

I guess I'll have to make a strong case for my 2 days a week telecommuting from home (instead of driving all the way to Vallejo just to work on the computer).. especially after the baby is born!
