I don't have the energy to say much... I've been bawling my eyes out for the last 2 hours. This is a great book to read if you're a dog lover. My dad got it for me for Christmas. I had to put my dog down earlier this year and it hit me and my father really hard. He got this book in hopes that it helps me heal. I think it may but right now it was more like picking off the scabs and dumping lemon juice in the wound.... I haven't been this upset by everything since that day. I think it will be good though, I kind of pushed all that pain aside and ignored it. I'm going to let him read it now. Anyway, I'm rambling.... read the book. It isn't all sad. It's also very inspiring :)

:hug I'm sorry you lost your dog. Pets are part of the family IMO and I can totally understand how you must be feeling.

I'm sorry about your dog. Do you think it would be a good book for my dad? I went over to his house last night and he literally has a shrine to Trooper :(

yeah. It's definately going to hurt like hell... but it is a really good story and it puts the agony of the end in perspective with all the joy and unconditional love that our dogs give us. Give him a box of tissues to go with it.

Have you read Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog? I really enjoyed this book. The ending will be sad, but it is a great book.

I am so sorry for your loss, Stacey. Dogs are such an important part of our lives. I had a hard time when we put down our family dog a few years back. For awhile, I swear I would still hear her walking (i would hear her collar with her tags hitting each other). And, now I have 2 dogs of my own that are my babies.
