View Full Version : RP Albertsons is closing Lynette 05-16-2006, 12:06 AM FYI- the Rohnert Park Albertsons is closing so they are getting rid of everything. My husband is a manager there and I can't remember if he said they will be closed IN a month or by the END of the month but either way they are marking everything down 30% to get rid of it. Lynette 05-16-2006, 07:37 AM Nah, my dh has been in the union for about 16years now and since he is a department head too he is guarenteed a job so we think he is just getting transferred to the Petaluma store. I am not sure about some of the other people because it is all done by seniority so I would imagine some of the kids who are baggers would get let go but that's probably it. Personally, I am kind of glad really. That store has been on lifesupport for years and I have been trying to get dh to make a change the entire time but he is comfortable there so wouldn't do it. Now he doesn't have a choice and he will be going to a store where some old friends of his are too. I think it is a good thing :) lmfike 05-16-2006, 09:01 AM Thank you for the information. Personally I rarely shopped at that location because I just didn't like it. When I grocery shopped in Rohnert Park we usually went to Safeway or Food Maxx. If I wanted Albertsons then I go to the Petaluma one on Lakeville. The big one on Lakeville is really nice but part of the problem is that being union they have a set amount they can make which is why he stayed at the funky RP one because we figured what was the point of going to an enourmous store where he has more work and spends more in gas to get there but not get a pay increase. lmfike 05-17-2006, 08:43 AM Do you mean the one on corner of Petaluma Blvd and Payran? I thought he was saying it was an old Lucky's store that was Apple Market and then went back to Albertson's?
