My friend's husband does websites. He did one for another group I'm in and asked him if he could do another website. He's spread to thin, but said maybe this site could help me.
Well, I guess I didn't give him enough info.
This site looks to me more like for photography sites.
Thought some of you ladies might want to check it out, if you haven't seen it yet.

It's totally dedicated to photographers. I have my site through them and while it looks nice, the customer service has to be the WORST in the world. Not only do they not answer emails but when they do they're horribly rude...like you're bothering them. It's ridiculous! Luckily, I've found a tech support guy that's actually competant and friendly but I would never recommend anyone going with them unless you're ready for huge frustrations!

wow mariah that is so disappointing. I almost got a template from them when they had the huge end of year sale but opted not to becuase I have heard horror stories about the bad Customer Service if you don't host with them :( Did you host with BD or on your own? They are beautiful templates though.
Michelle what kind of website are you looking for? Is this for your cakes? I was going to ask Nate to make a site for me too but he is so busy poor guy :(

Nope, I hosted somewhere else hoping to avoid the bad customer service and ended up asking for it :( I still haven't gotten a response to about 3 emails w/ different questions. I'm stunned at how bad it is!!

that really sucks. That is what i am afraid of. I actually heard that if you host your site with BD you will get good customer service but if you host else where then you get the worst ever.

That's really stupid because hosting the site is really cheap compared to buying their template...

that is what i think too. BD just uploaded a few new templates but for these new ones BD will either charge you an extra $100 to host someplace else or you have to host with them for $100 a year. Does that make sense? My issue is that I already have hosting paid for because of my other biz. I get a great deal by buying a couple years at a time, I can host more than one domain on the same hosting package and I have more than enough space to add a photog site too. I don't know, it just seems sort of ridiculous to "punish" customers who choose not to host with them.

really I guess I read the info wrong...i was looking at two different templates at the time. Thanks for clearing that up
yeah, it's just the way their new ordering system is set up. I'm looking at buying a 2nd site for my birth photography in the next 2-3 months (but am putting it off right now as much as i'm itching to sign a contract this minute, lol, b/c I have no income from photos coming in until after the baby comes) and glanced at one of their "$100" sites. None of their more expensive sites require an extra $100 for not hosting with them. My first site (the jinky) is an $800 site and i didn't have to pay to not host with them, so it appears that the $100 sites are really $200, they just can't apply a $100 discount for adding hosting, if that makes sense? When I bought my site, it was back before their online contracts, when you had to print it out, sign it, fax it in, etc.... their whole shopping cart to buy sites is pretty new.
Just FTR, if anyone is looking at buying through them right now, you won't get grade A service b/c they were just plugged on VH1 a few weeks ago and got *slammed* with orders. But their response time is still impeccable (atleast, it has been for me) as i've inquired about 2 sites this week and had quick responses.

oh how awesome they got a plug from VH1. I can totally understand the itch of wanting to buy another template. I still can't decide on the one i want since I am so in love with two different one's still for now its still on hold. Please show us your new website when you get that up and running. I'm sure its going to be gorgeous!
