So, I'm needing something new to read but I'm getting tired of spending $$$ on a book that takes me a couple days to read and then gets put on a shelf for years and years. So I was thinking about setting up an exchange... it could be for "keeps" or not. Any interest?

Here's what I have right now... (need to get to my storage unit for more)

Peace Like A River, Leif Enger (http://www.bookpage.com/0109bp/leif_enger.html)
Night, Elie Wiesel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_(book))
A Wedding In December, Anita Shreve (http://www.bookpage.com/0605bp/fiction/book_clubs.html)
The Time Traveler's Wife, Audrey Niffenegger (http://www.bookpage.com/0309bp/fiction/time_travelers_wife.html) (would want to retain ownership of this one)
The Innocent Man, John Grisham (http://www.bookpage.com/0610bp/john_grisham.html)
Andrea's Voice, Doris Smeltzer (http://www.andreasvoice.org/ways_to_help.htm) (would want to retain ownership of this one too)

Which one's of these are "must reads"? I should make a list too because I do the same thing but am not much of a re-reader.

ooh, I have Night and LOVE that book! I first read it in middle school, I think.. sooo good... I need to go through my books, but I'd be interested in joining if they're "return when done" books... lol.. I'm the type that loves rereading books a million times... lol

I dunno, Lynette. I liked all of them and wouldn't say any one was a waste of my time. Although some are definitely "heavy" reading and some are entertainment.

The Time Traveler's Wife was fantastic... a love story for those who believe in fate and are facinated with metaphysics. It's very similar in premise to the recent series Journeyman. I couldn't put it down.

Night was hard to take but enlightening and worth reading (it's also relatively short). It's the true account of the author and his family in a Nazi internment camp.

Andrea's Voice is written by a client of mine. It is about her daughter's eating disorder and eventual death. Very emotional but if you have daughters it's a must read. She's a fantastic writer.
