I recieved a bunch of scrap material. All are flowery/hawaiian patterns.
I'm wondering, is there anything out there that is safe, that will make the material hard.
I'm thinking I could cut out the flowers, put whatever on them, and then shape them into a semi-real flower. Was thinking I could use them like silk flowers on cakes.

If not, I'm going to take pictures and put the material up for grabs.

You could probably use a paper mache type of product. Or maybe a starch? If no one on here has any other ideas, I would ask at a fabric store.

I was thinking dipping them in a sugar/water or flour/water mixture would work, but I have a feeling they won't look very good in the end. Interesting idea!

How about elmers glue? water it down a tiny bit....I think it is similar to paper mache texture....I think elmers glue is non-toxic.
Good luck

Thanks ladies!
I'll have to go to the craft store anyway to get the stuff.
Sounds like a fun, messy project!
