So after being a bit inspired and feeling a little crafty (thanks ladies ;) ) I broke out the serger and some flannel left over from Christmas that I didn't use, I made some cloth wipes (for Lukeys butt ;) ) and a few panty liners (for mine... LMAO )

The airplane wipes have plain red flannel on the other side, the skate is that same print on both sides, as is the doggy print... and I so love the pretty pink print I used for the liners ( the wipes I did 2 layers, the panty liners 3... enough? I've never made them before.. so ... I hope so! LMAO)

very cute...for liners I only use 2 hehehe so three is even better!...for pads I do far more layers and you can get creative and add wings and snaps or velcro to hold them on...just trace your favorite pad with wings for a pattern! cute prints!

Thanks! I got my serger for Christmas last year and have only done sleep pants and doll clothes on it so far, so I'm just having fun figuring out what everything is and what it can do... lol...

oh man you better not spend too much time with me if you know what's good for you ...you will never leave your sergers side!...except to post pics of your creations!!...I JUST finished up 6 pocket diapers for Erin...and I want them all for myself! that is the hardest part, parting with all your creations!

I think it is the machine that does the stitching on the edge of the material so it doesn't fray??

yes lynette it does the stitching you see on the sides of the fabric she has the pic of...like on the inside of your clothing the seams are all serged together...its a nice compliment to a sewing machine :)

The serger uses three larger spools of thread and cuts the fabrics edge as it serges it.

the very basic models have three spools but they can have MANY more...one of the ones I have has three the other has four....they get pretty fancy and pretty pricey!

so are you brave enough to try out diapers Kellie????...you could always start out with an old shirt or fabric you don't care about....When I first tried out my version of a goodmama I made it out of an old knit sheet....but it is still usable!
