View Full Version : Are you going LMS 07-04-2006, 04:24 PM to see fireworks tonight? (tell us your plans in a response, but be sure to vote!) shawmich 07-04-2006, 04:28 PM All three of us are sick with the fever here :( LMS 07-04-2006, 04:30 PM michelle: awe, that's crummy! We are going to Jr's work. The fireworks show in SR should be right out from the lumber yard so it'll be nice and peaceful there. lmfike 07-04-2006, 04:54 PM We're headed over to the Sonoma Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma. jellybeanmichelle 07-04-2006, 06:09 PM Were going to SSU. Cotati doesn't allow fireworks. Thank goodness! MY parents neighbors in Rohnert Park are having a block party, and they get crazy with the fireworks. They shot off illegal stuff too. No respect what-so-ever! :respect What made me pissed is I just got V down for a nap, and someone over here in Cotati set of a really loud bang of a firework. So of course, V woke up. Lynette 07-04-2006, 08:31 PM I hate those illegal fireworks! They scare the heck out of my kids and dogs! In RP they have a phone number to call and nark people out so I am sitting out front tonight with our little legal ones and putting that number on speed dial! LMS 07-04-2006, 08:37 PM Lynette: LOL!!! I'm a little worried about how "rowdy" it'll be tonight in our neighrborhood (luckily my immediate circle here is MOSTLY young families, lots of little kids) but we have lots on the side road and down on college that i'm sure will be wild. In PA ALL fireworks were illegal. Of course we'd set some off at my parents house b/c it was way out in farm land, but nothing obnoxious and only a few. Funny thing was they were illegal to USE in PA, but legal to BUY in PA. so people bought in pa, went to ohio and set them off. lol Lynette 07-05-2006, 12:31 AM Well my speed dial to the cops didn't work, the stupid answering machine picked up all three times so I stopped calling. When I let the dogs (who were flipping out all night, poor guys!) out to pee one last time at 10:30 I heard people yelling so I went outside to tell them to shut up and there is a fire!!! 3 houses down across the street from me there are a bunch of trees behind two house and one tree (?) is blazing with flames shooting up 2 stories high! My 13 year old came out to see who I was yelling out and she starts freaking out because she has never seen anything like that before (not that I have either, or at least not that close to my HOUSE!) and wanting to know if we need to wake up dh and the baby to evacuate. The people in the two houses are running around trying to hose this enormous fire and all we could do was stand there, there was nothing to do to help. A few minutes 3 firetrucks and 3 cop cars come tearing into the court and people from all over walk down to gawk. It really was so gross how these people come walking down the street with big stupid grins to watch the show, like watching someone else's mayhem is entertainment. Anyway, they put it out in time so it didn't seem to jump to the houses or at least they put it out early enough that it didn't do any damage but OMG was that scary! Stupid *^&@#%$ jackasses and their illegal fireworks! It makes me so mad! Oh the illegal fireworks weren't coming from my neighbor but from the rural land behind their houses. Woo hoo. Happy 4th. Celebrate America by burning down your neighbor's house. daisydoc 07-05-2006, 08:22 AM LOL!! Lynette you're so sunny! I know exactly how you feel! We were in bed by 9:15 and had to get up to close all our windows when some dumbs*#t who lives behind us started shooting off illegal fireworks and who knows what all else. The sad part, as a kid we use to have huge parties at my parents hsoue with tons of legal fireworks. My parentt were always big on safety. We hosed everything down all day... had buckets of water and two hoses hanging out in their large driveway. Now the SR can't have them anymore it's sad for me. All b/c someone nut-job teenager couldn't follow rules and set them off in a field in the middle of the day causing a house to burn to the ground! :( LMS 07-05-2006, 09:08 AM Ugh, that's so frustrating. We had a few small pops around us, but nothing that even woke up Brendan. We went to JR's work to see the SR fireworks and I got some pretty good pics. It was nice b/c we were far enough away that it didn't scare B or Duke (who came with us) but we could still see a decent show. Lynette 07-05-2006, 09:18 AM We are about a mile or two from SSU and they went nuts this year with the fireworks, it sounded like WW3 out there! I would hear a bunch of booms and think, "Oh, that must be the finale, it is almost over!" and then they just kept going until 10pm. Brian and Salina were outside watching them but I was trying to put Alaina down in the midst of the booms and the dogs barking but they said it looked really cool. jellybeanmichelle 07-05-2006, 10:46 AM Hay Lynette! I heard those sirens around 10:30. And were in Cotati. We watched the SSU fireworks from Valley House Dr. We could see all the illegals from RP. We also saw Petaluma and Santa Rosa fireworks show. I cannot believe the trash! I drove thru RP this morning--trash everywhere!!!! What happenend to respect? Lynette 07-05-2006, 03:20 PM Tell me about it, the people behind us who were doing illegals just left all their garbage in the street, including the burned out illegal stuff. At the end of our court there is stuff all over like the Firework Fairy is just going to come and whisk it away for them. We are in the very end of L section, almost at the end of Lancaster in one of the courts so it sounded like one of the firetrucks came from Penngrove up Old Redwood highway. I guess I have never seen firemen work before because they were running and yelling all over the place! LMS 07-05-2006, 03:45 PM I've never seen a fire put out in person either. Must have been hectic! Lorah 03-06-2007, 03:44 PM Why was this in my unread posts?!?!!? Fireworks!!! The last post was July 5th 2006!!!! Who brought this one up and how??? BTW I love fireworks....heheheeheh WE use to be able to see then from our yard...not this year though...unless you can see some from hwy 12 and Fulton area. becky 03-06-2007, 04:16 PM you can blame Kellie for bringing this back to life. Lorah 03-06-2007, 04:18 PM I had a feeling! My gosh, she was on a roll! I just voted on a Christmas Tree poll and some other poll from like over a year ago. And I always read everything...Good thing Mav is sleeping well for his naps today....I really needed to get other stuff done.....but I'm drawn to this stuff.....*see addictions forum*. lol Kellie_MO5 03-06-2007, 04:27 PM hehehe |
