LOL! I wish! The closest one is in San Jose or Sacto I think now that Windsor Waterworks is closed.

Isn't Waterworld in Concord closer at least distance wise? There also used to be nice on in Clearlake. But right now they're closed. My dad said new owners took over and haven't decided what to do with it yet.
michelle: LOL, so did i . I read the titel and was like "what?! there's waterpark in rp?! We are SO going!"

another one who did that. Especially since Windsor Waterworks and Outrageous Waters in Clearlake both shut down this summer. Closest Water parks that I know of Waterworld in Sac and Concord and then Raging Waters in San Jose

I will have to Google the Concord one, I didn't know about it and my oldest is always asking to go to one of the others hoping I will have a moment of insanity and say yes to a day in the sun and a 4 hour round trip!

If I remember correctly the Concord one is about 50 miles from me and the Sacramento one is close to 100 miles one way. I keep debating on going one day. Just dread the idea of three kids and one adult at water park(they're not my husband's thing so taking him would be worse).
The Concord one is also a Six Flags waterpark as is the Sacramento one so you can find info on both via http://www.sixflags.com

Oh you have one of those husband's too, huh? Mine tells me that every year when the fair comes to town....like standing in crowds in the heat with loud noises listening to your kids whining for more money and junk is MY kind of thing either.
I will check it out though, I might be able to drag him along. Thanks for the info!

YEP so every year I take the kids and go to the fair by ourselves. It would be far worse if we dragged him along. PLus we'd have to leave a lot sooner. This year we were at the fair from about 1:30 till 10.

Yikes, 1:30 -10! Now that is a dedicated mom! I am lucky to make it 2 or 3 hours. With dh in tow it is a little worse because he is one of those dorks you see at the fair who stand in front of the different farm animals and make animals noises back to them. Sigh....as if the cows are going to think he is one of them...

Well I'm one of those that has to see the farm animals. Brings back fond memories of my childhood. I spent most every summer from age 9-17 at the fairs with my animals(pigs and dairy cows).

Me too! I lived in the country for a few years when I was a kid which is what makes it so embaressing! I am sure the 4-H kids are sitting there thinking, "Ha ha dork. Like we haven't heard people mooing at our cows a million times already and it is only noon."
I had a pet goat named Rico so we make sure we visit the goats especially :)

I usually go the the fair twice... once with DH and once with my parents and all the kids! Both time though never last more than 4 hours. I couldn't stand the huge crowds and the heat with Sevannah let alone now with both kids! LOL :)

I've been to the one in Concord... it is OK... Not as cool as the ones that we used to go to in Utah.
I was wondering where the heck the waterslide park in RP was!! Do you charge admission?

OK You guys about a year ago the city of RP had an online survey for residents to fill out about their parks and MANY of the questions had to do with water features. I do believe incorporating some water activities (maybe a la Howarth park) is in the plans and/or one water park type swim center. So it's possible!
