I just ran across this petticoat pattern on marthastewart.com. WAY too complicated for me but I know there are some more talented moms on here that might give it a shot. http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.3a0656639de62ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=fe5f088032e39110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCR D&vgnextfmt=default&rsc=ts_Homepage_Homepage

well watoosi Tammy! :banana
you'll have to let us know!
I've been looking on ebay for a pettiskirt thing...since the person that was supposed to be hooking us up with a great deal never got back to Sara :(
Oh yeah, that lady sucked!!! She finally got back to me and I meant to tell you guys, but all of a sudden we needed a resale license. She knew we were a group of moms going in on a group buy :rolleyes
Hummm, I might try this, though I am no master sewer...fabric can be so expensive though.

Just to let you know, this was on Martha Stewart today.
I video taped the segment to go along with what is on her site.

I just watched it on Martha! I was not that into them at first, but my daughter saw it and wants one!!! So of course, now I am liking them a bit. I guess I will be making one for her. They had a cute pink and brown top with the pink and brown one on Martha. Wish they had showed us how to do that.
The best way to get a good deal on fabrics is to go when they are having a big sale at JoAnn's because they almost always have a 50% off of one item coupon. I usually stock up then! :thumb

We have not been inside of a Walmart since they tried to sue the handicapped former employee. Their selection does suck since the remodel too. :thumbsdown

I have two on 'watch' right now.....there aren't very many on.....I agree....I'm trying to think of any way people might be spelling it wrong in their listings :giggle
It's easier to get a deal when someone misspelled a word in the title line so less people will view that auction...but I'm having a hard time coming up with things :giggle

What about petticoat? Isn't that what they used to be called before they were worn by themselves? And I'm sure you've tried it spelled with a "y." That would be my first guess.

Duh, I just realized that was the title of the thread. I'm no help. :lol
I actually bought the materials and am going to attempt making one. We'll see what happens though, I am not the best seamstress in the world and there are some things I don't understand :D I also think i got the wrong material because I read that getting the cheap stuff it unravels. I've gotten so far as to cut the pieces out and start on the waist band. The kids bug me when I do it, so I think I will start the sewing tonight.
On a side note, I just saw a McDonalds commercial and the girl in it had one on!

What ever happened to everyone buying them on here? I think Sara went with a different company than where Jackie got mine. I wonder if Jackie can get the contact info on them???

it fell through IIRC
Yup, fell through, but I would like to try again through the company Jackie got yours at.

What's a good price to pay someone to make one?
It cost me $27 for just the materials, and that was with everything on sale...
jellybeanmichelle
04-21-2008, 05:18 PM
So I can see it would be expensive not only for the materials, but the labor too.

They sell new for about 80-90 bucks from the websites.
I see some on ebay for buy it now 55-60 dollar range but they are few and far between :tongue
I have about 2 hours into mine (interrupted by kids) and all I have done is the cutting and part of the waistband.

That might have been where mine is from. I remember Jackie saying some name similar to Sams or short like that. I think I paid like $30/40 for mine b/c they were buying in bulk.
