Hi. I don't post here much, but I just moved to RP from SR and am looking for fun things to do with my 12-month-old. Things like Baby kindergym, etc. I checked out the community center, but it was too expensive. She gets bored cooped in the house all day, and the only park in walking distance doesn't have much for her to do since she's still young. I'm in a playgroup in SR through the SRMC that I want to stick with, but would be open to joining a 2nd one in RP. Any ideas?

Hmmm...I am in RP but don't always stay in town to do stuff with the kids because other than the parks or pools, there isn't always a lot. You could do Mommy and Me type swimming classes at the local pools, there is the gym off State Farm that I think might offer a toddler class, and there is the RP mom's club but even they go to SR for some stuff. I know there is a Kindergym in Petaluma too. I don't think she would be quite old enough for Toob Town by Rite Aid but they do have a toddler section too. Oh, and I know the University of Sports (I think that is the name?) by the theater has a toddler class but I believe they have to be 18mo?

We are in Petaluma. You could try Toob Town. Its an indoor play structure, ball pits and slides to go down. My son, Tyler, is the same age as Melody and there is a small beginner area for that age at Toob Town. There is not alot to do in RP, other than parks. We to often go to parks and try to meet other kids. It is challenging....
hope that you are able to find something.

Yeah, University of Sports, you have to be 18 months. But if your a member, their daycare age starts at 3 months.
Yeah, parks and pools and toob town.
There is also My Gym in Santa Rosa. There is one opening up in Petaluma soon.
What park do you go to? There is the park on Myrtle Dr in Cotati that has baby swings and is shaded in the afternoon thru evening.
